  1. ok so im going to be using the Fi BTL 12" sub D2 in a 2.5 cu ft box ported to 34 hz. in the trunk of a chevy cavalier. i want to run in DB Drag so the power needs to be there when the car is off. so it will be at around 12-12.5 volts. the battery will be a Kinetic HC 2000 so my decision comes down to this. a brand new AQ3500 for 550$ or a refurbished SAZ-3000 with new heat sink and B-stock (not sure what that is) for 575$. i would like to know the pro and cons of each one. i know one uses a fan for cooling and one doesnt. is there an advantage to this? which one is more efficient at 1 ohm? which one will output more power at 12 volts? or any more things i should now about these amps? I just want to make an informed decision and this is actually alot harder of a decision than i thought it would be... PLEASE HELP!! Thanks, Anton Miller
  2. they are on sale at db-r for like 25% off... i might even pick up a mids and highs amp as well.. cheap enough.
  3. The price of a refurb SAZ3000 is like 566$ so the price is vurtually the same. and the reason i want the power at 12 volts is for db drag events. (the only type of comps in my area) and i can only have 1 battery for my class... but from what im seeing and reading the sundown is probly for me. being as it will put out more power at 12 volts... thanks shizzzon for your input.

Speaker terminal screw for a 1500D

figure out the thread and order a screw. i like to order my od ball stuff form mcmaster carr. also a good place for threaded inserts for mounting subs! and if its a set screw you can get them there as well. they have everything.
  7. LOL! seriously? is DB-r a good company to deal with? and is there some sort of warranty? and it looks like the saz 3000 will be the choice... however if anyone has anything bad to say about either one it owuld be greatly appreciated. for example i love my RF 1500-1bd but i hate that it doesnt have an adjustable SSF. those are the things im looking for here. is there one or 2 little things about each amp that annoys you? like you hate that the rcas and the power is on the same side or vise versa? just little things like that. i know both amps will perform almost the same. its all about the little things i guess... thanks
  8. well they are the same price..... so thats the whole delema... is which one is better for that price. refurbished saz3000 or a New AQ 3500. Does any one have any pros or cons of each one? so far i have the pro of sundown using more quality parts. anything else?
  9. thats what i was thinking. but as soon as a buddy of mine told me about the crazy AQ sale going on. the 3500 popped into my mind and i just cant really tell which one is the better amp in this situation. i mean i would have never considered the aq for 700$ compared to the saz-3000 but since they are about the same price now. i just dont know.....

    Fi or SSa

i like how you guys dont push someone to buy your products over someone else's. a lot of people would. we need more people in the world like you guys at ssa x2 ive been thinking the same thing. even suggesting against their products. its very interesting...

What's the best way to build a box?

i used jig saw and lots of sanding. if you get a straight blade and dont over push the jigsaw then youll get a straight cut. but im not a patient guy...

Dual 12" FI BTL In Custom Enclosure Question

dont do it. not enough space and its just a bad idea. you should always face the subs in the same direction. however i suppose you could try to phase on sube with the other. it might work.... try it. i dont think you could hurt the subs. new box would be best option. and since it will be in a trunk with around 8 cu ft of box i would say seal it off firing towards the cabin. my $.02

Videos I promised a long time ago..

youtube does that some times. where one day youll have zero veiws and then like a week later youll get like 200 all of a sudden. i think its cause the video isnt that popular so they just dont update it as often. but nice sub like a commmented!

    12" fi bl

THE T-1500 IS WORTH THE MONEY!! I have it on my BL it puts out 1800 WRMS at 1 ohm. just an amazing amplifier. The sub handles it like a champ as well. this combo is very impressive IMO. Go to ebay and you can get one for about 450$ great amp. but you could probly get a sundown 1500 for that price as well some where.....

    My design pictures

I take pices from everywhere and mix them together, thats all. i was talking about the box designs. you must use some sort of 3d modeling to get them right? i use 3d modeling evry day. so when ever i see somthing like it i go crazy. lol This probably doesn't matter, but I like to use autodesk inventor. i started with inventor then went to solidworks, then went to pro engineer and now im back with solidworks. it doesnt handle large assmeblies very well. but solidworks is awesome for renderings and such.

    my btl broke

so what sized BTL is it? on the box specs im guessing a 15" but if its a 12" in that much space the sub may react the same as free airing and causing way too much over excursion...

So i work at Best BUy need sugestions

i would think even with a discount you could find everything you want on ebay for cheaper than at best buy. start looking into some of the brands that get represented on here. like if oyu wanted type r's then maybe you would consider some fi ssd instead or maybe a single Fi Q or an ssa icon or any of them actually!!! i would say continue to do research and spend the money wisely.
