Looks good, but unfortunately its a video of a sound system, with no audio from said sound system.

I was able to get more work done today . The one on the left has a coat of rage on it, the one on the right is primed, sanded and ready to paint.

46panel 4 18" Incriminator Audio Death Penalties / 2 IA 40.1's

Nice Work! -
After I finish up with the Rage, I'm going to prime them, sand them with finer grit paper, maybe 180? Then when they look good, I have some SEM Texture and SEM Color that matches the beige interior. I'm hoping they look sort of like the doors and trim panels. We will see. I'm a at glassing so at this point I'll be happy to just get them done and playing, they are sort of holding up the works right now. Once these are done, I'll run speaker and the alpine wires and then install the speakers and head unit. Once that is playing, subs go in.

Ok, I tried using Rage Extreme for the first time today on one of the kicks, I don't think I did too bad. After sanding I only found a couple of small spots I need to redo, but other than that I'm happy with them. Here it is freshly coated. And next to the can of Rage for size comparison. Here it is after block sanding.

Yea, 2 reasons for that. The Tang Band 6.5's have a huge underhung motor assembly, and I wanted some midbass out of them too. But since I'm only 5'8", I still have plenty of foot clearance.

Alright, I finally got some time to work on my kicks since I'm between jobs again. I put on some more Everglass filler and blocked it. Next I will try laying on some Rage and getting it smooth so I can texture and paint them. Here's a couple pics from my phone.

Welcome to SSA! I remember your build from SMD, looks great with the Crescendos. This place is very chill. Like Duran said, they will call you out for giving BS advice, so you will find a lot less misinformation here.

Thanks for the comments guys!! I agree, I'm very pleased with how its looking. Now time to finish this bish up.

I really didn't like how the cabling came out so I pulled them out and rerouted them. I think it looks much better this way.

It still does not look as good as your avatar! But thanks anyway Thanks!

Ok, finally an update! I mounted the buss bars in the trunk. They are mounted just under the trunk latch between the tail lights. I made up some cables and connected all the rear batteries together to the buss bars. I haven't hooked up the cables from the front yet, I'm going to charge the rear bank overnight then hook them up to the charging system. This is all you can see of the cables coming up from under the trunk carpet. This is without the trunk carpet, you can see a little more of the cables. This is the cover I had made for the spare tirewell, I just covered it with the same carpet I used on the buss bar mounts. Another angle. Now, without the spare tire cover. Here's a good view of the cables and buss bars. I need to find the cleanest way of routing the cables, then zip tie them all up nice and neat. Thanks for watching.

Question about repairing an amp.
bobonit replied to liljestrand's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
When replacing mosfets, you should replace all within that section. Meaning, if you are replacing some powersupply mosfets, replace ALL of the powersupply mosfets. If you are replacing mosfets in the output section, replace ALL of the mosfets in the output section. Make sure you buy them all at the same time and try to specify that they be from the same batch. Mosfets from different batches, even if they have the same part number, can have different internal resistance which will cause the ones with the lowest resistance to have more current which creates the possibility of those mosfets blowing. -

2010 SSA ICON 15" Prototype

That looks nice !! -
Well I haven't been making much progress on this, but I got a little done. Working 12 hour days sucks, I've been looking for work closer to home so I don't have to drive 3 hours each day. Anyway, I have the mounts for my buss bars made, I just need to get some trunk carpet to cover them with. Here are the buss bars mocked up with the mounts I made. I will then bolt the wood pieces with the bars on them to the rear of the trunk. Then I can just run the wires up from the batteries to these, which will be pretty much just above the batteries.

Alpine IVA-w200 vs W205 vs D105 vs D106 to work with PXA-H701
bobonit replied to kryptonitewhite's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Don't worry so much about the preamp outputs on the deck. your signal will either go thru the ainet or optical cable to the 701 which has 4v outputs. Also, the only time the optical cable is used (at least with my iva w505) is when playing a cd or dvd. Everything else goes thru the ainet cable. -
I'm thinking of buying a couple of the Second Skin *** Package that has the Door pack and 10 spl tiles as well as a few other things. I was thinking of using the SPL tiles on the roof of my Maxima. I just have to measure to see how many I'll need, and just order some more to finish the job.

So do you think a shorter version could be done to be close to the FS of my v1 coils? If so, would it still have a higher power handling?
-
What are the chances of you getting a couple made out of copper ? ;-) Just in case down the road I want to change these to D2 and add a 2nd 3000D.

I have learned so much from this forum including from ///M5. I have always treated and have been treated with respect. I don't know everything and I don't claim that I do. . . . And others like to make useless comments with their head up their ass. I take the positive from situations, for example... While having your head up your ass is just plain stupid, having a dick head up your ass is just plain gay.
