Need help deciding on mids and highs

In regards to the aim, I just make sure the mids in the kicks and the tweets in the doors are pretty muched aimed at the same location?

What does your username stand for/mean?

Mine manifested itself at work. Whenever a Server would crash or there was some problem with the network, my boss would say "Put Bob On It!" It kinda stuck. Since then it has mutated into something even better. Whenever some at work pisses me off, instead of telling them to suck my d@#k, I just say "Bob On It !!!"

    Sundown E8 Pre-Order #2

I think I'm going to order 4 of these to run as midbass with 2 in the doors and 2 in the rear deck of my 97 maxima. Which Sundown amp would be the best match for this? The 3 options that come to mind would be this: - 100.4 running 4 channel at 4 ohms - 100.4 running 2 channel at 2 ohms or - 125.2 running 2 channel at 2 ohms Your thoughts?

    SAZ-3000D with FI Q15 w/BP Power Option

Yea, I think I've made up my mind to go with a common chamber, it will also make the box smaller due to not having 2 sheets of 3/4mdf in the middle (I was going to do 2 seperate enclosures side by side). I'll just have to brace it pretty good. I should be able to get at least 5 to 5.2 cuft after driver displacement in the trunk.
  6. This is my first post to the forum, so be gentle :-) I'm planning a new system for my 97 Maxima SE. The last system I put together was about 18 years ago so the current crop of equipment is very new to me. I think I've made up my mind on 2 FI Q15's in sealed enclosures w/2 cuft each. Now I need to make up my mind on amplifiers. I've been reading a lot of good things about the Sundown amplifiers and I would like to get some honest opinions. This system will be in my daily driver. I'm into SQ so even though I like to play my music (rock) loud, it has to sound clean and crisp. I want to be able to drive the subs hard and still have headroom so I don't get any clipping. Based on that info, what do you think of having 2 SAZ-3000D's, one on each FI Q15 with the BP power option at 1 ohm? Would that be overkill? If so would I be better off without the BP option and using 2 SAZ-1500D's? As for the electrical, I'm going to install a Mechman 250amp alternator, Big 3 with 1/0 Stinger HPM cable and a Kinetic HC-2400 in the Trunk. I'll run the same 1/0 cable to the trunk for the amps, more than one if needed. I'll also replace the battery under the hood with a Kinetic, just not sure which size yet, haven't measured for clearance yet. Any suggestions will be appreciated, Thanks !!!

    Fi Sub's

Yea, but that 5 year old wouldn't have a car to put them in, he'd have to put them in his daddies car !!! My kids could buy me some Fi's to put in my car anytime they want !!!

    SAZ-3000D with FI Q15 w/BP Power Option

I've been looking at these: Hybrid Legatia L841-3 Pro Component Set If I have that up front, do you think that will stand up to the 2 Q15's and a 3000D?

How did you guys find SSA???

Found a link here from Steve Meade Designs Forum while I was reading some posts about Fi Car Audio.

    SAZ-3000D with FI Q15 w/BP Power Option

Valid question, let me see if I can answer that adequately. I was much younger and less experienced when I built my last system and it just didn't have enough planning and/or funds put into it so even though it was loud, it just wasn't a finished product. The staging sucked and it really needed some midbass drivers. Anyway, fast foward to 18 years later. I've been a network engineer for the past 19 years so the funds issue isn't a problem this time around. I started fixing all the little problems that creep up on a car that hits 100k miles and I got around to upgrading all the power and ground wires since the old ones were old and corroded. I figured, wow, look at these nice new power cables, lets use them !!! So yea, I got the bug again. But this time I want to plan it out right. Decent electrical backbone, decent subs that will not take up the entire trunk (hence the sealed box) and enough power to drive them hard and clean. I also like the idea of having enough headroom to add more subs later without having to worry about dropping some coin on a bigger amp. Now I just have to setup a front stage to sound good with those subs. So I guess to put it in a nutshell, if I'm going to do it at all, I want to do it right, but also big enough to not leave me wanting more for a change.

    SAZ-3000D with FI Q15 w/BP Power Option

I guess I've just never broken myself of the habit of hooking my subs up in seperate channels rather than hooking them up mono. Is there a benefit to doing so? Would the 3000d outperform the 2 1500d's? I'm not opposed to the idea at all.

    SAZ-3000D with FI Q15 w/BP Power Option

The 2 way active concept is new to me, but I understand it as you have the Front 2 channels for the Highs and the Rear 2 channels for the mids? Am I even close?

Sweet, thanks for the help. Now I just have to bash my brain around and figure out what to do with the mids and highs !!!

    SAZ-3000D with FI Q15 w/BP Power Option

Yes on the BP option, got it. Just to make sure I'm on the right path, how does my plans for the electrical system look to support these amps?

    SAZ-3000D with FI Q15 w/BP Power Option

Question answered !!! Thanks. With that said, using 2 SAZ-1500D's just get the Q15's without the BP?
