  1. Some douche bag went to the Casey Anthony Murder Trial and decided it would be funny to stick up his middle finger at the TV camera during the trial. Watch the video, he was right, it was funny!! Casey Anthony trial: 28-year-old man held in contempt for middle finger hand gesture
  2. Too funny, I didn't even think of that. Its all slow like Bill too.
  3. I really don't see how free speech applies here. He is in a court room during an active session. A murder trial of all things where the prosecution is seeking the death penalty. So someones life is at stake here. You don't talk, make faces, make gestures, nothing. He fucked up plain and simple, thought he was being silly. I'm sure the judge is making an example of him, because there has been so many things happening during this trial he is trying to make sure there is not a mistrial because of some idiot.

    speaker pins or banana plugs?

Like the others said, just strip the ends of the wire and put that in the terminals, It will have more contact area with the terminals.

Thanks! Yea, I like having those tools. They certainly come in handy when you need them!! I have a switchable MLA, for now I have it at 14.6, but the other setting is 15.2. I think when I initially metered it I got 15.6, but that drops down to 15.2 fairly quickly as the alt heats up. I don't think it will be pulling that much current from the front. But if I start popping fuses, I'll run more cable for sure. I have a bank of 5 XSPower batteries in the spare tire well where the amps will be connected to. The alt only produces 250amps and there is just the one battery up front. Both runs of + are fused at 300 so the cables won't cook if it does try to feed more. Inside the enclosure where the ports terminate, they are pointed away from the walls and are at least 6 to 7 inches ( I can't remember exactly how much ) away from the walls, so they should be ok. The enclosure is over 8cf gross and like 5.8cf net after subs, dowels, resin and ports. Thats about spot on with what Jacob recommended for these subs, between 5 and 6cf. Thanks !! It sure is taking longer, but I'd rather enjoy it later than mess something up by rushing.

Its time to finally install all the goodies I have purchased before I got laid off. Alpine IVA-W505 Headunit Alpine PXA-H701 Processor Alpine RUX-C701 Controller for PXA-H701 3x Sundown SAX-100.4D for Highs, Mids and Midbass 1x Sundown SAZ-3000D 4x SEAS Prestige 27TFFNC/G (H1396) 1" Textile Dome Tweeters 4x Tang Band W6-1721 6-1/2" Underhung Midbass Drivers (Midrange) 4x Sundown E8 Woofers for Midbass 2x Sundown Custom 15D1 Nightshades with Copper Coils DC Power Inc 250amp alternator w/Switchable MLA Module - already installed. I started with the power backbone. I installed a DC Power 250amp alternator and switchable MLA module. Kinetik HC1800 Under the hood, Big 3 with Knukonceptz Kolossus Fleks Kable 1/0. After this pic was taken, I cleaned it up a little more by removing that little piece of grey 1/0 and connecting the stock ground wire to chassis where the battery is grounded. It looks nicer now. Positive wire from the alternator going to battery positive (blue wire) The substage will be 2 custom Nightshade 15's. These are the copper coil Nightshades Jacob was testing with. Subs will be firing foward through the rear seat, ports will be up through the deck and I will seal off the trunk. The old torsion bars must go as they will be in the way. I installed a pair of StrongArm 4518 Universal 14.50" Ext. 100# Lift Supports. Making room for the box with my new toy. The upper corners and a little off the top is what I'm removing. The reciprocating saw goes through this like butter. Taking a break. Now thats better.

Thanks guys!! Hopefully after New Years I can get back to work on it. All the Christmas decorations are stacked around my box and workbench so they are trapped. Once that stuff goes back up into the attic, its on!!

    Amp is clipping?

Also, you have to adjust your gains to match the input voltage coming from your head unit. If your head unit has a higher preamp voltage than your friends, your amp could clip at a lower gain setting than his.

A little progress was made today. Started doing resin 45's in the box. Once those are done I'll give the inside a little sanding to smooth out the resin on the walls.

Thanks! I'll have an update tomorrow, doing some resin 45's in the box and some more sanding on the kicks. Just haven't taken any pics yet.
  15. Any idea why the amp was going into protect? I can't see a cracked dustcap causing that.

    T-nuts or huricane nuts

H'mmm, I've always used T-Nuts, never heard of hurricane nuts. Those look pretty cool, I'll have to try them out.

    Xcons in trunk

Although you may have enough internal volume for 15's, you need to figure out how you are going to mount the subs and where the port will be. With a 34" x 18" baffle, you are very limited on space. Just keep that in mind.

Stetsom Not For Sale In SSA Store?

Well, you're not crazy. They used to be there, but I don't see them there now either. Maybe they stopped carrying them? I'm sure someone will chime in that knows.

    R.I.P SEAN TYLER DOBBS.....MY SON

I am truly sorry for your loss. I'm a father of 2 girls and I don't know what I'd do if something happened to them. That also sucks about your birthday, I know how that goes. My father died on my birthday several years ago. My thoughts are with you and your family, stay strong.

    Sundown E8 v.2 Pre-Order

Ok, cool. On that note, would it be better to run 4ohm stereo or 2 ohm stereo. I'm just trying to figure out which coil configuration to order

    Sundown E8 v.2 Pre-Order

Jacob, I'm thinking of running 2 of these off of a SAX-100.4 in my front doors for midbass. I'm just wondering what would be the best combination... Amp running 4 channel mode: Dual 4ohm version running on channels 3 and 4 with the coils wired in parallel for a 2ohm load or Amp running 2 channels (bridged) Dual 2ohm version, amp bridged to 2 channels with the coils wired in series for a 4ohm load. I'm thinking the first option may be better since I don't want to overpower them with option 2. Can I have your thoughts?

Thanks for the compliments guys! I'm right there with ya on the sanding, what a PITA. But yea man, they look great after that last sanding. Not yet, but once I get these done (almost there) I'm going to dress up the box and put it in, then I can start planning out how to mount these amps. 2 SAZ-3000s and 2 SAX-100.4s take up some space
