I don't see how SQ would go down.. But then again I'm not a expert..
-
Sounds like the coils were getting hot. Put the sub back in, turn "loud" off and see how it sounds. If you would have kept going the sub would have stopped playing completely so it probably still works.

Progress pictures, haven't gotten any sanding done due to the rain here.. Waiting for a sunny day to sand and hopefully paint. I'm underway! Check out the kenwood deck with the usb hookup its the best deck I have ever owned.

The truck is my friends 2000 nissan frontier on airbags and 20's with shaved suicide doors, its very sick. And the '55 chevy is my other friends they have had it in the family forever. I will have pics up soon.

That woofer weighs as much as my skinny asian friend.... When is this "monster" going to be released?
-
Well plans got kinda messed up today. Got the emblems and old dry rotted graphics off the side of the car. Started wet sanding the back of the car. All of the pics are before pics I won't have progress pics up until tomorrow I had to go to work at 8 and I didn't have time to take them. But it does look tons better without the yellow "pinstripe" down the side and the stupid graphics

You good sirs are brave. My 15 ssd on 750 is a little painful. I can't imagine 4 18s on 4.5k much less 9k!
-
What vehicle is this going in? If you want louder go with the 18's the cone area of 2 18's is almost equal to the cone area of 3 15's. What music do you listen to? If your going for a daily groundpounder put them in a 14-20cuft box and tune it to 32hz with a lot of port area.

Dump the Cap?
ShaneSauce replied to Hell-Razor's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Caps are dated. They were helpful back in the day but the batteries on the market now are all you need. Like he said up there caps store power they don't produce it. So if your voltage is dropping and your stock battery/alternator can't keep up the cap isn't going to help any once it runs out of the stored energy. I say go with the saz-2000 and upgrade your under the hood battery and get another for the back. -
My 750.1 has the set ssfilter also :/ I hope my ssd doesn't take a dump on me...
-
Could also be the place that installed it for you had no clue what they were doing...
-
Please don't tell me your running all of that on a completely stock electrical...
-
Put it in a box and send it to me, I'll PM you my address hahaha trade me a nightshade? ;D thanks for the fast replies you guys on here are always a great help. long live ssa

So I ordered 25 sqft and I have about 10sqft left.. I did some of the trunk floor, the trunk lid, the top of my back deck and the bottom of the back deck(that's where the rattling/buzzing was coming from.) It sounds pooploads better but where would be a good place to put the rest? I'm thinking doors since I'm putting a comp set in?

I say just get a badass 18 and it sounds like you need a better amp too..
-
You shouldn't be seeing big drops with 600 watts. It all depends on your vehicle though..
-
Dude don't worry about overpowering the sub with that amp.. I have about 900 on mine and I love it. I have seen people put saz-1500's on a ssd you should be fine.
-
New to the Game, could use some expert advice.
ShaneSauce replied to DeezyDee's topic in General Audio
The Dcon package is really nice if your looking for just some bump. Top of the line stuff really, I think you would like it -
Or get the Saz4500 like 1200 to each sub
-
Q - sound quality BL - loud That pretty much explains it, lol
-
The Q is what I would recommend then, it can get loud while retaining good sound quality.
-
omgwtfbbq no it means barbecue. bbq post is bbq
-
Damage usually isn't visual. Push down on the cone a little from the top, if it won't budge or it makes a scratching sound the coils are fried.

I don't see this working out well, the box is losing pressure somewhere.. I'm gonna try to re-seal where I couldn't get last time, get some more screws in it and see what happens. If it doesn't work out how I like I'm going to scratch the box, get 2 nightshade 12's and make a new box that I can slide in and out of the trunk and fire everything to the front and deaden the shit out of my rear deck.

I have a ton of questions coming, I need them answered so I can get my bass back! So today I decided I'm going to make a new box for the SSD. Current box is 3.5cuft @33hz 40sqin of port, sub is firing UP and port is firing towards the back of the car. New box, 5cuft@30hz 78sqin of port sub AND port firing towards the cabin it should be tons louder without all the trunk rattle. (I know this is a little much for the ssd but a btl is going in place of it in the next month or two.) In order for this box to fit in my car we have to build it inside the trunk, I already tore out the back seats and had to take a grinder to the metal behind the seat. The seats are going back in they are not staying out.. About 50-75sqft of deadening is going in at the end of the week, components and 2 channel amp will be here then also. Also took out the 6.5's Now onto the questions What exactly is "sealing off the trunk" how do I accomplish this and what will I gain and lose from it? Can I screw down the bottom plate of my box to the trunk floor so the box doesn't move around? Or is there a better way? Will my ssd be louder and lower in the new box until I get the btl? Whats the best way to go about assembling a box in a trunk.. Back plate first then side plates then front plate? I'm not going to be able to get screws in the sides of the box so I will have to rely on the glue to hold?
