  1. I need to know how many tubes I would need and what length and what diameter opening to reach like 30hz in 3 cubes... with at least 36-48 square inches of port. And I also need to know the displacement of these I can't seem to figure it out.
  2. I have been looking and looking for a decent amp since I got rid of my zx750.1 and the best deal I have seen so far is the refurb SAE-1200Dv2 for $240 on db-r.com I have heard good things about db-r but it says 7-10 business days until shipping I am curious why? I am also wondering why the amp runs 5 fuses? Last question... How much can I expect this amp to push at 14.4v?
  3. If you want the loudest possible enclosure for your subs do you want more enclosure volume or more port area? What are the positives and negatives of more port area or less.

Sacrifice box volume for port area?

Well I do understand that lol. I just ask because I believe nick recommends 12-16 square inches of port for every cube of enclosure volume, but I wonder how different a box would sound with 36 square inches of port vs a box with 48 square inches of port and the same amount of volume this is the question I am getting at.

    Sir-Lancelot's Yukon XL - UPDATE 18" ZCONS / 4 GP3k Page 27

Loving the build man. Keep it up I wanna hear what you think about them. :drink40:
  6. That is good to hear, I have always seen positive things being said about sundown around here and it obviously seems like they way to go. What was being ran off of the SAE?
  7. Hey guys I am hoping one of you guys know what is wrong with my amp.. It is a older model rockford t1000 and it worked fine a few weeks ago, my sub stopped playing and I assumed I blew the sub and I found out I did. Well I find out that the amp won't power up or anything.. It popped the 150amp fuse on the amp itself and then I replaced that fuse and it popped the in-line fuse to my 4awg power cable. Soooooo I replaced that fuse and when the amp turns on it makes a very high pitched squealing sound and then pops a fuse.. There is a loose rattling on the inside but it has been that way and worked fine since I have had it even though it rattles on the inside. Should I take it apart and look inside for anything fishy? I got it in a trade and I don't think it would be under warranty so might as well?

    Good budget 10" sub

This is also a really good choice for under $100 shipped Click

    Good budget 10" sub

I put a CVR 12 in a friends car in a pre-fab pawn shop ported box on about 600 watts, and anything below 60 hz sounded like blowing air through a straw into a cup of milk. ^ That is why. That is no reason to bash on a cvr, like people say on here the build is all about the box and from what I am hearing the box was tuned way too high. I have mine in like 3cuft and its tuned to around 32hz and the lows hit almost as good as my ssd 15" did.

    Good budget 10" sub

I would just pick up a cvr 12 and put it in like 1.5 ported.. I have 2 cvr 12's on a super super old sony xplod 760 maybe seeing 300rms and its slapping haaaaaaaaaaaaard
  11. Well I went to open it and you have to have one of those 6 star hex keys to open it up... This amp it too beastly to just let go to waste.

    Circle port question

I built my box today it is around 1.75cuft and I went ahead and sealed it. I took a old circle port out of a old box I bought and it is adjustable! I was like holy crap.. anyways I believe it is a 4" port and it adjusts from I believe 4 inches in length to around 10-12 inches. What would the length of the tubing need to be for lets say.. 30-32hz?

Balls.. I will figure something out

    Circle port question

Um.. around 15-20sqin of port should be sufficient right? I can't figure out how much port area it will give me.
  15. Hi soundsolutions it has been a while. Life has kept me extremely busy with school and work and not to mention I now have a baby girl on the way. I had a SSD 15" and a zx750 and I ended up selling the sub for rims and traded the 750 for a t-1000 which ended up toasting itself somehow.. long story short I have nothing.. I really don't want to spend more than $300 for the sub(s) and amp because I am strapped for cash and I just want some kind of low end nothing crazy. Size is somewhat of a issue, the 15 took up my whole trunk and I can't afford not to have trunk space anymore so a single 10" or 12" with like 4-500rms would be optimal. I will be building the box myself depending on what I go with. This is what I am coming up with --------------------------------------------- (1) Alpine R 12" - $120, or $150 for '10 model (1) Re SE 10" - $130 on sonicelectronix (1) Re SE 12" - $150 on sonicelectronix (1) Re SR 12" - $100 on sonicelectronix (2) Re REX 12's - $120ish (2) Kicker Comp 12's - $120ish AMP - anything that will push 4-500rms The RE SE 10" is sounding the best to me, do you guys think about 1.2cuft @30hz would be sufficient for it? Talk to me guys.

Haven't posted in ages.. Starting over! (help)

Well I'm not really strapped for cash.. I just said that to put out there I don't want to spend more than $300. You are very correct though, I have some money put away in savings for her trust me
  17. Traded my friend for what looks like a rf t-1000 monoblock. This is exactly what it looks like but it has no rf sticker on the front, but it does have the rf sticker on the back with the serial number and whatnot. It has 2 channels NOT 1 does this mean its not a 1000rms mono block? I hooked it up to my type e 12 and it worked fine.
  18. Nevermind guys I found it. Rockford Fosgate® - T10001bd It has 2 speaker channels which led me to think it wasn't a t1000 mono. But it looks like that's what I have now
  19. I have temporary bass right now that I paid about $60 bucks for, its a alpine type e in a pre-fab truck box that is about 1cuft and ported to a high frequency I am guessing, its running on my zx750 pretty strongly. Like expected there is absolutely no bottom end compared to my ssd 15 lol, I wanna order another type e for 60 and make my own box this week. Would these sound decent with about 2.5 cuft each and tuned to about 34 hz?

Help me make the most out of my temp setup

To the poster above I am getting either 2 12's or 2 15's for the build and I'm only running 2,000 watts not 4,000. I guess I will just figure something out until I start my next build.

Help me make the most out of my temp setup

SSD was sold for rims. The build I'm about to start is gonna cost at least $1,500 so 100 isn't too much to me.

Help me make the most out of my temp setup

Thanks for this info, I don't see buying another woofer as a huge expense for the amount of output I would get out of the 2 12's in a optimal box for the price. I don't really start making good money until I get done with school in 2 weeks so I need some acceptable bass while saving up for the insane bass.

Help me make the most out of my temp setup

Trust me I understand about saving money to get the bigger better system but.. I need more bass now! lol This single 12 in 1 cube is killing me lol

    15'' Fi BTL

Wait.. if the sub is a dual 1 it should be getting the 2 ohm load from the amp. Is there something I'm missing here?
  25. If I wanted to run say.. 3k at 1ohm would a 170amp alt and a yellow top in the back be sufficient? With the stock battery up front and the big 3 done obviously.
