crap, Kent got 38K and didnt even realize it
-
stop staring at your woofers behind like that!
-
i'll look around tomorrow and see what i can find yes
-
i guess that makes sense but AHHH! sooo impatient! wanna see teh sexiness
-
this is just about the most cruel thing i've ever heard of....
-
for capacitors: when wiring in parallel you just add up the capacitances and when wiring in series you do the inverse thing it's just the opposite of calculating resistances i forget how to do inductances atm but i could look it up for you
-
nice new avatar Kent
-
Kent, you know capacitances dont go together like resistances right?
-
have to add more components to have a steeper slope though...
-
when i click the link, only products i see is a GM fasteners and a free catalogue
-
i hate you sooo much Ryan
-
good plan Kent and as always, `

at the 12volt.com? i've got it saved in my favorites..lol.. but where i'm lost is what do i look at to build this... i know i need the coil, and evidently a mF resistor..but what else..a board? ok, simple enough...is cheap ok? any hints? this is just to help out a funkypup on a cheap bookshelf.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee thats a mF cap, sorry i had a typo and i've even seen a piece of cardboard used to hold the components in place
-
ok, according to my equations, you need a 234.375 microFarad capacitor and a 7.503 milliHenry coil for a 12 dB/octave x-over at 120 Hz on a 4 ohm load
-
that's just for a first order slope, i forget what it is in dB/Octave... 6 perhaps? if you want steeper, you need more parts im sure you can get that size inductor somewhere online
