No one makes a pre-made mandrel bent kit for your truck? It's strongly recommended to get mandrel bent pipes because normal bending can decrease cross-sectional area by up to 60% in the bends. And as far as potential, there's a guy in Nebraska whose '03 Silverado runs low 10s and is putting out 1050hp, 1030 ft*lbs with turbocharged 408 LS (I believe that's the combo, only info I could find on it). Are there any other "normal mods" the LS engines like? Truck is a DD so tearing into it too far is not an option. , I can't wait to hear how it sounds CAI, long-tube headers, cat-back, and a tune will be a very good start from there.... the sky's the limit I luv the sky probably also toss in a 160* thermostat. LS series motors respond very well to nitrous... but it's not necessary. Doesn't 160* Thermo= less gas mileage? Something I'm not too into, my foot will be killing it enough lol. What do you mean is not necessary, the 160* thermostat? Tom, what do you think the limit for mods on a DD? I mean the point where mods may take more than a weekend and you start sacrificing driveabilty and gas mileage for power. I have a feeling the answer is still "the sky" lol The thermostat shouldn't really affect mpg at all. I believe he meant the nitrous isn't necessary. A 160* T-stat is usually a good thing to throw in. Well, I know people who can swap engines in a weekend soo........ And there are people who drive 10-11 second LS-powered cars daily sooo.... But if you don't want to sacrifice any mpg, then the bolt-ons listed earlier are about the limit. CAI, headers, cat-back, t-stat, tuning won't (if you can keep your foot out of it) decrease mpg. If you race it at all, look in to upgraded pushrods. The factory ones are, by far, the weak link in the engine. They're a pretty easy swap too. If it gets to the point of sacrificing some mpg, then there's heads/cam swaps, nitrous, gears, torque converter, turbo, supercharger, and engine swaps

so, 2002 Z71? 5.3, I assume? If so, it's based on LS architecture and will respond well to all the normal mods

yes, a 100.2 will put out about 25% more than rated and a 100.4 will do about 10% more than rated
