As you may know, I am starting my big build slowly, first buying the Raamat, deck, and 2 component speakers, and starting out with a semi loud subwoofer system that I might buy from my friend. He is trying to sell me these subs *These will come with no box 1st pair system 2 15" Kicker L7s 2 OHM EACH 2nd pair system 2 12" Kicker CompVRs 2 OHM EACH One belonged to my friend, the other was his brother's, idk which one belonged to who, but anyways what box specs should I go with and should it be ported, vented, or sealed? I kinda hate it if my trunk were to whang like a mofo or rattle like crazy, I like clean bass that can be heard from far distances. Another one of my friends who owns a shop here says he likes sealed boxes better for clean bass. I kinda said wtf. Maybe I could be wrong, but from experience, ported boxes seem to drop lower than sealed, which is what I want to go for. So my question is, which of these would make the above systems meet their maximum potentials for my goal. Ported, vented, or a sealed box? Again, I am slowly going to build my big system, so this is just a starter, and later, before summer, I will have all 8 comp. speakers, all electricals upgraded, my deck, and raammat kept while selling whichever kicker subs i get. so what frequency should i go with, my trunk is 44 inches wide and 28 inch depth and 18 inches tall, i did the calculator of it on this site, and it gave me 32 hz. But, kicker recommends for a ported box, the volume needs to be 1.75-2.25 cu. ft. which turns out to be 36 hz which seams too high. (those are for the cvrs by the way) Any suggestions?

I thought that no one would buy a $1400 system on craigslist, which is why i thought about not starting out with BL's, but rather get a loud, but less expensive system like the link above because it would be easier to sell. so ur saying i should get the btl's but start the build slowly? for example deck first, 2 weeks later comp speakers, 2 weeks later etc? You saw how i mentioned that i would keep most of the things in the kicker setup and use it for the btl setup, such as the rammat, comp speakers etc. Thats kinda like slow building i thought but maybe im wrong.

I found out that http://www.Darvex.com offers everything needed for your car audio setup, but i dont know everything i need. I know i need my alternator (ebay) batteries (Darvex) 1 Gauge Wiring (Darvex) but i dont know what else. i know but i got a budget, and 1 btl would work, but 2 wouldnt unless i got a chitty 3k amp, but i thought 3 Bls would hit hard for my budget

nahh man no lexus, sold it for 3995, it had 156k miles on it, i bought the maxima for 2785 and it has 139k miles on it, gives me 1000 bucks to put into the sound and other aftermarket add ons =]

Will i get louder with 1 15" BTL fully loaded in a ported box on the same 3000 watt sundown amp recommended to me, or the 2 12" BLs on a 3000 watt amp in a ported box? everything is the same, the goals and everything, but i am just curious on this one....please let me know...also can anyone recommend me some nice component speakers with tweeters....i like polk audio, but idk if there is anything better please let me know thanks

No it doesnt all i am looking for is sound, and bass, not looks of the setup What IS able to fit in my trunk: 3 12" Subwoofers 2 15" Subwoofers 1 18" Subwoofers **obviously anything less will fit too The Material used for the box Fiberboard (any other suggestions for better sound, let me know) What is the system I am looking at, but am unsure if it is good 3 12" Fi BL 1000 RMS (1 OHM VC OPTION) 3 Sundown SAE-1200D 1200 RMS Possible Full Electrical Upgrade I am not sure if capacitors are better, or just getting additional batteries (Please Let Me Know) WHAT I HAVE HEARD: I have never heard any sub by Fi in person....i have seen youtube videos of what they can do. I am very fond of kicker, i have seen the solo x 18", and i have installed compvrs for my friend, and i have been happy with kicker, and so has my friend who i installed it for. I have been saving money to get a very nice system, one that could be one of the best in my city which is actually pretty big, and the best system here is a 6500 watt Diamond Setup in a 1999 Jeep Wrangler which he was able to hit 164 db, so I am hoping that any suggestions of a nice system, either the one i mentioned, or one that anyone can help me with, can top that, because another friend of mine from chicago was able to get real close to the 6500 watt diamond setup with 2 15" Sundown Nightshades only a 3000 watt setup @ 160 db, so please i know most of the people on these forums know wayy more than i do, i need your feedback...thank you..GO OBAMA!

so if you all know, my final system is 2 Fi BL 12" 1000 RMS (1 OHM VC OPTION) 1 Sundown SAE-3000D 1500 RMS @ 2 OHMS **BOX: Dual 12" Ported Box (specs are below) Width: 40 Height: 16 Top Depth:20 Bottom depth: 20 Wood thickness: .75" Square Port Height: 14.5 Square Port Width: 5 The idea was to cut a rectangle behind the box, and behind the armrest in the backseat to allow air from the subs out, is this a good idea for more bass/airspace? I wanna hear what you guys think....HERE IS A PIC OF IT
