thank you for the compliment on the car, i am trying to get 22s my friend is trying to sell haha....anyways do you think 2 15s would be just as good as 2 12s, and if i run the 2 15s at 1 ohm on a sundown 3000d, will that be good, or should i do like you said 2 1200d's on 2 12's? please let me know...thanks, and big 3 will be upgraded definitely and it looks like i will have extra space for another battery in the trunk The only reason that i didn't recommend the 15's is just that they require significantly more airspace than the equivalent 12" subwoofer, generally speaking. I have a feeling what you have in mind is a setup that gets as loud as possible without sounding like complete a$$, so typically you would want a ported enclosure for that. After compensating for the materials, sub and port displacement, etc. you would be surprised by how little airspace you might have. IMO you would probably rather have 12's with enough room to really pound and get low than 15's that are a little choked up. To give you an example, i just ran through a rough dimension of 40w x 16h x 20d which would probably even be a little tricky to fit through the opening in the trunk, with a 14.5 x 5" port (72.5 sq in) and not even factoring in the woofer displacement which would probably be a total of about .3, you are looking a 4.68 cubic feet, around 4.3x after the woofers are in and all is said and done. That is good for most 12"s but lacking for a lot of the 15"s. I would give that setup a shot, i think you will be pleasantly surprised and if for some reason you are not, you always have the option of adding one more, or selling them. Woofers like FI's hold their value pretty well Hey i dont know if i am asking for too much or if i am allowed to do this on this forum, but is it possible if you can sketch me a nice ported box design for 2 12" BL's and maybe repst or email it to me....if you are allowed to, i would appreciate that a lot!

thank you for the response! so you are saying 2 15s are better? the audio shop here says airspace is important, and 2 15s will save space for an extra battery, let me know what you think....i am getting closer to a final setup

  10. So I obviously need to upgrade the electrical wiring and alternator in my 1996 lexus es300, and idk how much that will cost, and i wanted to put 3 BTL 12" in my trunk in a custom ported box, and i needed 3 nice amps to power them, i was thinking CRUNCH 2500 Watt or SPL 3200 watt since they can give out a lot of power for a low price....any other suggestions, and how much will upgrading the ENTIRE electrical units be, Alternator, wiring etc.... 3 BTLS---------------------$1100 Pioneer Deck--------------$400 Polk Audio Components--$300 3 Amps---------------------$660 for Crunch $1060 for SPL ------------------TOTAL=$2660 (Does not include labor or the electricals) what will the final cost be after electricals cuz labor is 270 bucks for this according to my local audio shop PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!! **AND ALSO NOBODY TELL ME SUNDOWN, ITS WAY TO MUCH MONEY, DESPITE HOW fudgeIN SICK THEY ARE

  12. I am taking a little vacation since I keep posting diarrhea.
  13. hahaha. Maybe you should research who you're talking to before spouting off insults. I've seen a 170 off of a single 10 (that wasn't a solox), so 156, 165, whatever. eh. and......I'm pretty sure there is no fiberboard "specially made" for the solox. any properly built box made with generic 3/4" MDF would sound the same. But you also have to take into consideration what the box that they design will do for your music. If they tune it to 45-50 hz, sure it'll be loud. But it'll sound like crap at anything other than an SPL competition. So you have to ask yourself if you'd rather have 365 days of decent sounding bass or 362 days of crappy sounding bass with 3 good days at soundoff comps thrown in? and if they tune it to something reasonable, like 32 hz, you won't be hitting 165 db, regardless of if they have magic fairy dust wood. COME TO CHAMPAIGN ILLINOIS AND I WILL PROVE U WRONG!! THERE IS A BIG DIFFERENCE IN SOUND Don't yell, in particular when you are wrong. well im just saying that if you wanna come here, i will prove you wrong...stop acting cocky, and get your ass over here to feel like a dumbass, better yet, i dont even want replies from you, please dont give me any....just fudge off, and go to what you think sounds better

    Is 3 12" BLs Better or 3 15" Kicker L7s?

I question the same thing maybe hes gonna acctualy use his gain........ when people ask will a 2000 watt amp be to big for a 1000 watt sub.. we tell them no.. not if you use it right. it seems MAYBE hes gonnna use his right and have some headroom. bl bl bl bl bl bl bl bl bl bl bl bl bl im glad to see your thinking more along the lines of the bl. and not the btl. why not 2 bl 15's? He still hasn't told us anything about this "sick ass ported box" other than.....it's a "sick ass ported box." How do we know the box they build won't maximize his subs at only 500 watts each? Where's the point in 1500 watts of headroom? Not to mention he noted that he was on a budget in his other thread, so why not buy a single 2000 watt amp that will adequately power them both? Not only will that allow him to save space in his trunk, maybe a little extra money, and plus he could buy a better quality amp than the crunch or other amp he was talking about in his other thread. But hey, just my .02. i might get 3 fosgate 2000 watt amps, 3 SPL 2400 watt amps, or 3 Almani 2000 watt amps, but is a Kicker 15" L7 better or 12" BL?

    Is 3 12" BLs Better or 3 15" Kicker L7s?

Rap and southern rock....again i know the owners of a shop who will build me a sick ass ported box
  20. its a 2.5 inch thick Fiberboard the sound that comes out of it is powerful and clean as hell
  21. i know the owners of the shop, and they do some SICK ASS designs, and he'll only charge me 100 bucks for a triple 12" ported box. The material of the box is specially made for kicker solo x's 18", and with this box, on a 2500 watt amp, 1 solo x got 156 db wjich was INSANE
