big 3, stock 75amp alt. thats why i'm not getting another amp for a little bit...i'll have to build a bracket and wire in a 2nd alt. noone makes a ho for my car, and the biggest i can have mine rewound to is ~100A, which isn't much more

i think i'm gonna go 5.5ft @ 38Hz w/ as much port as i can shove in it(hoping for ~120) then my next step is gonna be another ega1400d and strap them bit(hes i don't think i'm gonna go 7ft cause when i do get more power i don't think they'd like a box that big...

Cone area owns. And Kents right. 30hz is aweful low for in car. Move up to a 36-38hz and squeeze out as much vB as You can. The bigger box will help keep the little but of low end that You normally lose when tuning higher. If You can get 4ft net per driver, 12ish sq in of port / cube, tune around 36hz with the same amplifier, You should notice much more output to the ear. The bigger box will help make better use of Your amp as well. You honeslty don't need louder in a dailydriver - but need & want are two different animals. -Nick <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i heard that smaller boxes will be louder, sacraficing a little low end? no way can i fit 4ft per driver. i might be able to get 3.5ft...but would 2.5ft be louder? also someone else was saying that dd recomends tuning of 40Hz...wouldn't that be pretty high for a daily driver? and there is no way i could fit 2 18's...i'm having trouble getting the 2 15 situated

someone told me to drill ~1" hole in the back of my kick to "vent" it into the floor...would it be better to do this or to actually port in to a certain freq? and if ported is better, what should i tune it to?
-
everyone is suggesting to keep the rl-p's and build a diff box. what box would yeild the most output for a daily driver?
-
man...watching those vids makes me want one. and its NOT the camera, its the compression. all those pics above came from this vid... http://www.realmofexcursion.com/videos/Sou...ter/rlp15.6.wmv

i think its the black cone...like req said for the most i think its cause my vids in a super low tuned box so on the low notes where most subs go crazy...mine wouldn't hardly move(port controlling the cone) but here are some pics of them when i had them sealed.......
-
i resent that. i have a pretty nice cam! but the vids do kinda suck! they do move pretty far, you just cant tell

i believe you just press it against the wall. its kinda like silly putty...

Well put, and agreed. Simple vibration from electrical current can cause resonance. I have had several times where I actually had to add mass to the frame of the driver as the basket was resonating. I now practice this on all smaller drivers just as a precautionary measure. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> how big should kicks be???what kind of dampening material? what do you add mass to the frame w/? i do have another question off the subject...how do you adjust your eq? i got the 13 band on the h/u and i find myself constently adjusting it. sometimes it sounds good sometimes it don't...but i can never find that perfect spot where everything just sounds perfect. the BBE feature on the h/u...on or off? sometimes it makes stuff sound better, sometimes the highs just drown everything out.

sweet ass picture of what??? i thought about painting my logo w/ a UV marker so it would light up under black light.....

Quite difficult. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> any helpful links? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> http://www.elitecaraudio.com/article.php?sid=18 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> pretty cool link can you tune it w/o an RTA? i might try something like that when i finally put some 8's in my doors

it don't make alot of sence...i had figured that adding .5ft would drop tuning from 31 to 27-28...but it only dropped it to 30Hz. i think i might put the .5 back in and add another .5ft. just to see what happens and how it sounds.

here is my new graphs... whatcha think???
