12" JL w7 D3 vs 12"SSA ICON D2
T0mmysee replied to barbarazimmer's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
non biased here, mind you i haven't heard anything from ssa's lineup but i can gurantee you you will NOT be disappointed with the w7, and even if it'll run @ 1.5ohms you'll still be getting plenty of power for that thing to get loud and very clean sounding. They make a dual 3 12W7? Isnt the 12 inch a single voice coil? Last time I checked the only dual voice coil W7 was the 13" with D1.5. -
I have been looking around for information on this sub, but come up with nothing. Not specifications on it, but whether or not I can run this in a daily setup. I know there are a few people who do run these daily, but those are the larger sizes, 12"s, 15"s, 18"s. I have never heard of anyone running a 10. Would it be fine for daily use, or is it similar to the old BTL 10" to where it was solely for burping purposes? Any help would be great appreciated

In the process right now!! Double major EE and Audio Engineering FTW!!! Then maybe later, Acoustical Engineering -
I used JL subs for all my first systems, and loved the SQ from them But for the shallow mounts, I would choose the RE SLs

Alpine H/U's
T0mmysee replied to Pezzaboi's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
What you have heard might be from people who have no idea what they are talking about. Alpines are fine, but FAR from best. I always just look on ebay and dream of getting a Mac or Denon Z1 HU. Sooo nice. Same here.....as soon as I win the lotto...I'm getting that Denon deck -
Awwww Then props on having yet one more thing for people to envy But then again....Nevada does not seem that far away...lol

Is the only place you can get these at the actual AA warehouse? Because I have been searching for these online and came up with nothing. Please someone help with a link or something. I emailed AA awhile back but got no response; this may have been due to an overload of work. I just really want those mids

Ughhh....binary Had to learn that day in day out for logic circuit designs. Wasn't too bad, but gets confusing if you aren't careful

Thats actually done really well. Good job!

With all the extra weight from the sound deadener added on to your car, does it affect performance of the car significantly? Or is it just a slight, unnoticeable difference?

Personally, and what i plan on doing is running a 12 XXX off of an MD3. My cousin has this setup in his 4runner, and it hits the lows very nicely. Great sub, could handle a lot more power. But in reference to the numbers you plan to achieve, quite possible, but really couldn't tell you. Setup has not yet been metered, and all install dependent. XXX in a 2.2ft^3 tuned to 34hz.

I ran a 12W7, then switched over to the Q12. In my personal opinion the Q was a lot cleaner, and a hell of a lot cheaper. Especially in a ported box, thats when the Q really livens up hits the lows real nicely. ( 2.0 cuft after displacement tuned to 32hz). I ran both sealed, with the same amp: 12W7<Fi Q Then switched to ported with the Q and am very happy :bigclap:

I plan on getting one very soon, and was wondering about how much trunk/hatch space is there, roughly. Ive searched online, but they only give the total volume size of the entire cabin. Any help would be appreciated. Sizes for the width, depth and the height of the lowest part of the hatch(planning my system ahead of time....obsessed...lol ) Thanks in advance
