Amp going into protect periodically
threedd97 replied to threedd97's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
My electrical is stock, but I've never had this amp do this before. Or any other amp. I wonder If I damaged it somehow. -
Amp going into protect periodically
threedd97 replied to threedd97's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I'll check the ground when I get off. I thought it was good the last time I checked. Gain is 1/3 and xover is at like 80hz I think. I'll have to look. Subsonic and bass boost are down all the way. I played around with all the settings and it's always the same result. It's possible I knocked the ground loose when grounding my xm box in the trunk. -
Icon came in today! Had to go to work, but I will have it dropped into the box tonight. I'll take some crappy pics with my phone.

I took some pics of everything with my good camera. Got called into work early though. I PROMISE pictures will be up tonight.

The bass is so tight and clean. Great output too. I'll have pics tomorrow with better lighting. Was too dark.

I don't know how to fix it and it probably costs more than it's worth to send it in to somewhere that still fixes them. So for the price of shipping plus like $30.

I almost want to wait to purchase a khaotik enclosure for pics. The sealed box I have is boring.

Anybody want a blown brahma mark IV?

I think it was 2v drop at the amp. The 14v was taken at the battery. To me it just sounds like gains are set too high.

After some deliberation I decided on the ssa sub. I can't wait to get it installed and listen to it. I'll post a pic of it when it comes in.

SSA Desktop Wallpaper thread...
threedd97 replied to Mark LaFountain's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
I need someone to implement the 2010 Icon into a nice high res picture of a nebula for my head unit please. I'm not versed well enough in art programs to do something worthwhile. -
Oh man . My sub won't be here until next Thursday, November 11th . 3 weeks after the order! I'm jonesing for some bass! Damn SEMA.

Question about crimping terminals onto 1/0 gauge
threedd97 posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Can someone link me to a tool designed to crimp terminals on a larger scale such as 1/0 gauge or give me a home remedy to doing it that doesn't require purchasing specialized tools? -
Oh I missed the part about the trunk being sealed off. Forget what I said.

I really think he should just do a 12" BTL. It will still be pretty loud and you won't have to gut the rear of the cabin. It's why I moved down to 12"s from 15"s. I keep buying cars with trunks and I can't get a proper sized enclosure for a 15 in them. I always had to go on the smallest end of the recommended size and that would barely fit through the trunk opening. I did these in 1998 grand prix gt and 2009 honda accord. That's why I sold my 15 btl and dropped down to a 12. Unless of course this guy doesn't care about resell value of the vehicle. Then by all means do the delete.

I want that vehicle.

Somebody from another forum directed me here back in 2005. It was either ngsm13 or NDMstang65 from caraudio.com

I bet your truck was manufactured in 2001, but it is a 2002 model. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_12452_Metra+70-2003.html should fit your harness. Yours looks to be a 24 pin and that harness I linked is 24 pin for a 2002 Chevrolet s10. This one also has a seperate wire for ignition which is probably your chimes. The other extra wires might be for stearing wheel controls or something. This is the correct harness for your vehicle.

Wish I had some money. This would be a nice amp for the front stage I want. -
Sounds excellent. Thanks for the update on where it is in the process

Question about crimping terminals onto 1/0 gauge
threedd97 replied to threedd97's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Sounds like a good idea. I might look around for one of those hydraulic crimpers. If it's under $100 I would consider buying it. One like this maybe: http://www.amazon.com/Hydraulic-Battery-Cable-Wire-Crimping/dp/B002WFP2NQ Did you notice we both live in Biloxi? -
Hey Mark, any idea when the icon will ship? I'm getting anxious

Question about crimping terminals onto 1/0 gauge
threedd97 replied to threedd97's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Thanks for the information everyone. Getting ready to do big 3 and the last time I tried crimping large gauge it was the biggest pain in my butt. So if I understand correctly, it's like this: Crimp with a hammer Solder on the terminal side away from the jacket Heatshrink -
Live and learn I guess. I just wanted one of those brahmas so bad.
