Hmm yeah i figured it was because of that just wanted some more opinions from smarter people. I guess ill change it to two ohms then. thanks for the detailed response. by the way how big of an electrical would i need to support .5 ohms? i'm not going to keep it at .5 ohms because my new amp(s) will be run at 2 ohms. just curious
-
im having a little problem with my amp. right now i have a sundown saz-2000d hooked up to two 18" dc xl's at .5 ohms until i can afford a better amp and get more batteries to support the extra power. but so far the amp is doing alright except at times the amp will go into protect only when i turn it up. it doesnt happen all the time and whenever it happens its random, meaning it sometimes will go into protect the moment the bass hits when turned up or sometimes after a whole song has played through full tilt. right now my electrical is a 250 amp alt with the big 3 done in 1/0 gauge wire and an xs power d3400 under the hood with a d3100d in the back all with 1/0 gauge wire. i also do understand that running at .5 voids the warranty. i just wanna see if i can try and figure it out and see if there is any other reason why than the ohm load being at .5 ohms. i have a feeling it is because its wired down to .5 ohms but im not sure. it does however run fine with no problems at normal listening levels though.

Thanks guys! My camera is a Canon Powershot SD780IS. It's a sweet camera. I'm gonna go and try to install my new alt and amp now.

Hey guys! Well I finally got the amp from Mark today. Just thought I would take a bunch of pics and share them to everybody! The amp looks so sweet! I love it already even though it's not hooked up yet Some of the pictures came out a little blurry because I didn't use flash for most of them but its ok. Can't wait to get this baby hooked up!

Thanks guys. I just thought since I got a nice amp why not take some nice pics?

Trying to beef up my electrical
shazaam replied to shazaam's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I think I may just get the Deka and keep my stock alt then go from there. CrazyKenKid how long can you keep your system playing full tilt with that low voltage drop? I heard that without a high output alt you have to drive a while without the system playing to charge the batteries. I don't know I'll see I guess. -
Trying to beef up my electrical
shazaam posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Alright guys I know this kind of question has been asked before but I just wanted to make sure what will be right for me. I already tried searching for a long time but haven't really found my answer. So I just bought a SAZ-2000D from Mark for my subs and I already have a JBL 4 channel amp for my mids and highs. So what I am trying to figure out is if I should upgrade my alt or just get a second battery. I already have a yellow top upfront and I have the factory 145 amp alt. My system would be around 2500 watts but judging by how the SAZ-2000D did on Jacob's clamp test I'm guessing my system will be close to 3000 watts. I have about 400 dollars left to spend on electrical upgrades and 1/0 wire and the fuses and all that for the 2000D. I was first thinking about getting a Deka 9A31 for the rear and running that for a little bit until I got an MLA module. But now I'm thinking of buying a high output alt and running my system with the yellow top for a little while until I could buy a 9A31. What do you guys suggest I do? Sorry for the long post! -

wow that install is amazing!! good luck at the finals!

Haha nice. Put On seemed to work. I wonder how it would have been if the sub was getting like 3000 watts though. Probably would be like a tornado in there to the spider lol.

Play a bass test song like Beats 4 My Van or something. That would be pretty funny. Btw where you at in Katy? I live in Katy too.

I have mine in a 2.6 cube (2.5 after displacements) ported box tuned to 32 hz. It's freaking amazing.

Four 10" Icon enclosure (termlab Video...143.6 @ 10hz)
shazaam replied to Thumpper's topic in Pound That Sound
Wow 140+ at 10hz! That must cause earthquakes or something when you drive by lol. How can you play the Icons far below the tuning frequency without unloading or anything and still have incredible output??? Amazing work man! -
I read somewhere that nick said they are ssd with copper coils. lol Lol I just did a quick search:

I've read somewhere that the RE SX is pretty much the same as an SSD with a flat wound coil. So that could be a good comparison I guess.

I second that! Call up UPS and ask what happened, and if it was really delivered. I would think Fi would require UPS to get a signature instead of just dropping it off. I just ordered a 12" Fi Q, hopefully they make someone sign for it. Sorry about what happened to you. But I just want to say that I don't think UPS has to get a signature. When I received my 12" Q the guy just rang my door bell and by the time I went to answer he was gone. I highly suggest in calling UPS and see where they delivered and possibly keep an eye on your neighbors or anyone who you think could have stolen them. Who knows maybe the driver couldn't find your house and drove back to their office or something you never know. Best of luck dude.
