x2 I like to be loud but I hate to sound like a tin can. Before you dynamat the trunk lid spray great stuff foam into all hollow struts etc. it's gonna expand so just let it seap out holes and dry. Trim off after it dries then put your Dynamatt, hushmatt etc.. and put it on. Invest in a roller. Its usually 10-15 bucks but well worth it. As has been stated once you get to a certain point its gonna rattle regardless just more of a dull rattle. Love a loud trunk!

DB Drag 4/18 in Glen Burnie
Thorshammer replied to calvin's topic in Competitions & Other Organized SPL/SQ Events
Had a great time and hit my first 50 ever in Glen Burnie! Wish I could go but I'm judging a show in SUNY Morissville NY. College campus and bikini clad powertrip girls!! -
A pr. of 10's ported on good power will make you happy. 3 10's in that trunk is gonna leave you no room. Adding to your Mid stage is a good idea. Commonly overlooked.

playin around

Got 2nd kinteik in the spare tire well and dynamatted the rest of my trunk. More Pics to come later

Got the box up and running and found that the subs were getiing a hot faster than they had in a long time. So I cut a longer port to shrink the common chamber like I did in the old box and it worked like a charm. What I couldnt' stand was the box flex at high volumes it was driving me crazy sooooo with no meter to do testing I decided to pull the box and resin it up! Should be ready to go back in Sat. Still have to do the inside top and top of port.

new box in just need t re wire amps.
-
Done with box until testing is over.
-
Built a new box to replace the broken one. Not finished but it should be ready by wed. to put in for testing.

Isn't that one of the models that makes the same power at any rated impedance? The extra power imput may not make a difference in how much power you are getting, but may save the amp. Copper traces on the board are more than likely not designed assuming only one set of inputs being used. What does an 8 volt line driver have to do with not using one set of power inputs? Yes it's one of the amps that makes the power at any ohm load. As far as I can tell the extra set of power inputs is primarily there if i was running all 5 channels and needed to stiffen my power available. When I originally bought the amp Phil at PG said that it wasnt necessary to use both inputs. The line driver really has nothing to do with using the sec. inputs but I'm able to give a clean 6 volts to my amp and with that I'm using a fraction of the amp. At full volume I'm lucky to see a .1 v drop. Without a sub or set if heavy mids It will probably never need anymore power.

Don't think they would hold up to 5k ea!
-
It does and I have thought about it in the past but with only 2 sets of components and a 8 volt line driver I have virtually no draw. Once I get everything in for the season I may just try it to see if it makes a diff. Thanks for the ideas!

Naw. It's more fun to be the lil guy

Got a couple burps in and whoops Split the box down the seam of the port Also broke 2 more wood screw and stripped a third. Even with box pissing and subs screaming with air out the sides I was able to pull a 149.4 while in the drivers seat. Peak freq is back to box tuning around 47. Very Optimistic

Gonna seal it back up again tomorrow and start testing.

Tear down time!

OOOOO BAby! Been waiting for a hot minute for the pre emptive pics and launch of this line! Jacob if you only do a limited set of 10's I want!! Could be just what I need to be the only 149.9 bassracer with a pr. of 10's out of a trunk! I have 2 Atomic 5k's to play with!
-
It appears my box's internal volume is 5.82324 With my tuning right at 40hz. It's no wonder they hit low. LOL
-
Well I was bored so I made a couple vidz. Hope you enjoy :bigclap: Up first is a vid showing air movement from drivers window Breaking the lil guys in. Strange noise is not the subs. The closer the mic gets to the port the worse it gets. Lastly my no flex flex vid LMAO!! Will post more if ya want!

Box dimensions are 15H x 35W x 23.75 deep Port is 10w x 13.5 H x 29.5L Working on learning how to calculate cu. ft. If you know how plz feel free to educate me.

Thanks for the kind words fellas! I'lllll Woooork OOOOn thhheeee drawwwlllll

So I wasnt' hitting the numbas I should be. I took the back deck off and wowza! How'd that hole get there?!? Also found out that the clips on the 6x9's were broke and they was flappin round! More air loss....aaarrrggghhh!! More deadener needed and this is the outcome End of the day we have a fairly well sealed deck and a lil something to show for it. More to come.....I hope

Dang bro that looks painful! Glad ya still have some fingers left,
-
Yeah i had to retrieve it. LMAO It got sucked up into the chamber.
-
Thank you sir! I feel the same way i tried this with my 2 shocker 10's but it didnt turn out as well, cause i had to big of box and the one fudgeed up.lol I'm really not sure just how big the box is cause I'm a tard in that area but I believe the common chamber to be no more than 2cu. and the port is 135sq in.
