Hmmm look what I found!? LOL Could you poss. use a similar oversized basket like I have on my current subs? Work well and allow for more excursion and were meant for 9500 series like motors. At least thats what I was told. LOL I'm no sub builder.

I've never been able to play with fi but i wanna say louder with more power handling. Again it all comes down to the install.

I know that this isnt the site to promote aq but the HDC series is really really close to the DD 9500series. It can handle 2200 by itself no prob.

I do everything i can to eliminate rattle and any excessive noise other than the sound of retarded clean Bass. A lot of people like the flex and think rattle means your loud but for me its all about what I can accomplish on the meter and still be Musical. No you don't feel 30hz and under with my current box tuned in the 40's but in real world daily radio there's not a whole lot thats 30 and under. Just my opinion. lol

x2 Lost .3 whenever I put them in this current box. It might be diff. if the 45's were in first and then tuned box to vehicle . I'll find out on next box.

Exactly my point.. Thats how Iam. I play music in the 150's but to play a tone all sealed up with mic on the dash.. It wont be very impresive. You know what Im talkin about man.. With windows open I play music well into the low 50's, sealed 148+, in the kick 152+, in the port (6 inches inside a 29.5in port) 164.5. Just wondering.

Misconception, 15's 12's etc... will always be louder than 10's! HAHA Everything boils down to the install, box, tuning, testing etc... Yes, I use 5k daily and love every minute of it! My honest opinion is if your having voltage drop issues on 800rms and your alts fine have batt checked and or return it. I have run the Atomic 5k on stock alt 125amp with minimal issues. I did have and still do have 2 batts. 1 yellow top and 1 kinetik 2400. I'm actually looking into powermaster batts right now to upgrade for next yr. If your looking for an alt go to HOAlt.com and check them out. It's american power systems. They built my alt 220amp shipped for 325, and no other company wanted to build one for the gp or were retarded qoutes in excess of 600+

From the box size you posted it prob takes up most of your trunk No? when you face it rear its gonna choke itself. It will create tight small areas for the air to get through into the cabin. Let it breath. Face it front port on drivers side and try to seal it to the cabin. I found my best no's with box forward, port on driver side, centered in the trunk with it pushed all the way back against the trunk lid. If your willing to seal it you'll gain a full Db or more. Pretty much can gaurantee it. LOL

Before I sealed the trunk I peaked at 47. The box was tuned to the vehicle( Test pull out shave port wall put back together test etc..) I peaked at 43-45 since sealing it. I'm gonna build a similar box next yr but fine tune it better. This box had no 45's rounded nothings(except port wall and face) its a very basic box with wayy too much port! LOL

I don't remember what the enclosure dimensions are. I do remember the port though 13.5h x 10 w x 29.5L and the common chamber is round 2cubes.

I'd be able to do better no.s with less power if I used bigger subs. It aint easy getting a pr. of 10's to play music in excess of 148 db much less out of a trunk. But that is half the fun! For shucks and giggles I put the meter ( TL of course) 6 inches inside port centered and did a 164.5! LOL Next time I get near a meter I'm gonna put it all the way back in the port 29.5 inches long and see if it's louder than 170. No wonder people post thier port no.s. LMAO

Definately AudioQue HD310's. First model AQ came out with. With how much power? If I can get the box right I'll stay with 5k. If not I plan on running 2 Atomic's strapped at .5ohm. Edit: nm Yellow Top under hood, Kinetik 2400 in trunk, 2 runs 0, 220amp alt. Most of the time my amp sees 15.0-15.2volts and rarely drops below 13.
