Thanks for the explanation guys

The motors on these woofers look almost identical. I know both woofers are made out of the same build house. Is there any difference in the motors? I know Xcon is more of a sound quality woofer, Im a owner, and the BTL is more of a SPL woofer. Is it the soft parts and the coil that make them sound different? Please excuse my ignorance on the subject.

Great car. I use to have a 87. Gave it to my neice and its still riding clean. Be sure to put up a build log

If your worried about Sound Quality you should focus more on your front stage install

Dont take it to a shop and let them charge you. Just turn the gain down. You can hear when the subwoofer is being pushed to hard -
You cant lose with either sub. Both are monsters on the low end. Im have more bias towards the Xcon because I have heard them in many different set-ups and they sounded amazing in each one.
-
That thing is a beast!
-
Thats sucks. I hear they have pretty good CS though. Are you gonna throw those xcon in the mazda?
-
Im wondering how a Xcon will perform with 35hz tuning. I know its a little above the optimal tuning but since the majority of music doesnt dip that low I was thinking it may be a good idea. Anybody ever tried it?
-
Yea I want it all. Great sound and loud to the ear. My truck has always sounded really strong around 35 hz. Im sure Ill be doing some test with a couple different enclosures
-
Still waiting on that new zed 4 channel. Im ready when you are. lol.
-
I think im going to try it out and see how I like it. This driver has such a low Fs I thought it may not sound that good in 35hz enclosure
-
Did you test these songs or did you get this info from somewhere else? Great info!!!!!!!

Sirlancelot have you had a chance to redo your front stage yet? Are those pro audio speakers going in the same ride that has the xcon 18's?
