Great choice man iv loved my Fi since day one.
-
is it gonna be ported up or back?
-
I cant remember but if juslivin can remind us which of the two trucks it was gonna be you could give us the measurements bc i believe it was between a dodge and chevy. I have to have confirmation on that though so what will it be juslivin.

I hope so, but that will make him even more mad at me, he already whispers in my girlfriends ear. That is something you should be taking up with her. Anyways that's beside the point though iv had all my friends do it too mines better mine does this and that. When i turn it up the jaws drop and that's the end of it. Let them talk the talk just show them the walk. =]

honestly dude take it somewhere else that is uncalled for. Jason do you have any way of getting measurements of either trucks space?
-
As long as the space between the port and the tailgate is the same or bigger than the port width it should be just fine. My BL is ported up with sub up and it sounds just fine iv actually tried it port back sub back and it wasn't near as loud that way. Only way to honesty tell what way would work better is to try it but i think in your case port up sub up should work out just fine.

For a mayhem the site says 3-5cuft. With a box 28x17.5x28 (wxhxd) you get a box with 4.325cuft after sub displacement you'll be around 4.115cuft. Also that's with a port width of 4" by 32" long which gives you 64 square inches of port area or 16 per cuft which is the general rule of thumb i believe. oh and that will leave you with a tune of 32hz. If you want go up to the full 5cuft which will probably give you the best results make the box 32x17.5x24 with 4" port width by 26" long. it'll net you 5.383cuft, 64" square port area, and a tune of 31.34hz

looks great man. wish that happened to me with my 1200d haha
-
yeah i figure for the price i can do two runs on 1/0 to the back and still be ahead.
-
if you do get 2 Fi q's your most likely gonna need a battery or batteries an alternator and a good deal of 0/1 and fuse holders so do take that into consideration. i know alot of my friends think you can get a 5000w amp hook it up and go. not to say you thought that but im just saying haha
-
no need to get an attitude the w7 is a great sub but for the money you can do better in my opinion. id rather have a havoc or q before a w7. Not to mention the price of a w7 is out of this world for what your getting.

is a 18 inch ssd louder then 3 cheap 12's

Ever considered a SAE1200d man? nasty little amp for the money. -
i don't really see a need but im sure if you can handle a soldering iron it can be done pretty easily.

1kw+ amp resistance with a poll!
ncacoates replied to eric77's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
why not keep it going haha gives everyone a good idea what all kinds of amps are stable at and the power they make. Sundown SAE-1200D rated - 1200 @ 1ohm said power - 1450 @ 1ohm I totally believe the 1450 it pushes the chit out of my fully loaded BL -
man i totally missed this one im pretty good with cs and illustrator wouldn't have minded to take a crack at it.

depends on install is my honest opinion. buddys 3 eclipse Ti 12s don't hit or sound as good as my single 15 Bl and they should should better in all honesty. -
yeah that's what i was worried about.
-
Well i can hear the Bl is reeking havoc on my box when it hits the low notes i can hear an air leak even with a monster port. Thing is id like to be able to have to option to move from one 15bl too two down the road. Question is do i build 2 separate boxes and just leave one out for now or do i make say a 8+cuft box and run one in it for now. I don't think that would work considering the port area would be to large for just the one sub right? Anyways i got a 21.5xin40inx26in (HxWxD) space to work with and i can barley manage it but i can get two 21x20x26 boxes with 4.01cuft after displacement and tuned to 32hz in there. what do you guys think i should do?
-
problem is im going to school in February and it all depends on if i can get a job during school. thus the reasoning for making the boxes now rather than later not to mention i wont have access to the nice big wood shop at my grandfathers living hours away at school.
-
Looks sweet wouldn't mind trying them out to bad im poor and they aren't out.
-
Mine sounds awesome and im right at a grand. Fi Q or Bl is a great choice with a saz1500d. Pick up a yellow top or a good kinetic battery and you should be set.

hmmmm.... 4 of these on my 1200d might be a plan. either way they look beefy for 3-400 watts that's for sure. -
Im either gonna strap 2 1200's or get a 3000 Maybe 2 1500's strapped... Not sure yet... Someone wants to buy my amp from me lol SAE-1200's aren't strapable. Im pretty sure i read where you could with a max link. im unsure on that though but it was my plan when i get another bl and 1200d down the road.
-
To bad the budget isn't a little higher 15" bl or Q on a sae-1200d would only leave you 50 and running 0 gauge isnt cheap
