DC XP230
ncacoates replied to ncacoates's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Im hoping man... they look to be more solid products than any other company. may be pricey but they use the top components and they use there own casing for the ford 6g if you get the xp series. -
There cs is awesome i sent it back the other day. They were very helpfull and very suprised to hear that it was grinding. They said it would be fixed or they would send a brand new one. Other than that it was putting out rated when i clamped it and it was charging at 14.5 - 14.7

So today i received a nice new 220amp DB electrical alternator since my stocker finally fell victim to the 3500D. After a 5 hour install process which is considered fast on a mazda tribute........ i start the car up and hear a big old grinding noise coming from it. Needless to say i am highly pissed at the situation and they best have a new one at my dorr very quick. Anyone else had experience with them? I herd alot of good things and for the price its not bad at all. Anyways expect a new video with 4 agms and a new alt soon if i ever get it fixed..... should be a good little gain.

numbers were with the 3000D but im still lacking voltage needed to make it happy. Clamped it at 2798 awhile back so with more power.. =D magical things happen maybe even a 150. hahaha
-
Looks good man but i gotta say do i hear clipping. Ive herd the 8s and seen them in person and they had no mechanical noise
-
ya so these have some nice potential to get loud. good to see a sub that sounds good and gets that loud oh yes they sound amazing getting loud.
-
I have had mine metered. Both were burps at 43hz in a box tuned to 30hz. With work to deaden the car and a new box tuned higher im positive i could do 150s+ at the headrest. 148.1 @ headrest 150.0 @ windshield
-
8.... 8s hmmm could be in the future one day i think it would be nasty loud on the 3k
-
Might stop by and bother you guys tomorrow ill have to take a look at it. Looks pretty beefy.
-
how much do you want to spend in total. how big of a box can you fit. what kinda power do you have? answer those question then people will be able to help better.
-
BTL will be louder than the BL and the xcon. Though i believe since ive owned both the xcon is louder than the BL even in an enclosure built for the BL and not the xcon. Thats matter of oppinion since i never got the chance to meter just one BL or xcon. The xcon does make up for it in the sq field for sure and its probably the best sounding driver ive herd.

I love my x-cons and i recommend them to anyone any day. id have to say the new nightshades are nasty and will be my choice if i ever go to a spl setup.
-
Looks amazing man you need to get some headrest numbers too.

AQ20KD coming soon...
ncacoates replied to shizzzon's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Those rating seem like bull. Sorry but doing twice the power with 2.4 volts and higher THD dont seem possible. I dont want to be a disbeliever or trash on the brand but that's a big jump. Id gladly run 2 4500Ds over it any day of the week. -

3 icons with you 3k with be a pretty sweet setup if you ask me. Id love to see you stick with xcons though. How man cu/ft you guys got to work with? -
I hate to say it but your far better off reading at home and teaching your self over time. The best thing you'll ever do is find yourself some guys who have been into it for a long time. Go to some competitions and talk to some guys youll be surprised how much us audio guys are willing to lend a helping hand and teach you a thing or two. As far as starting an audio shop dont even think about trying to sell anything but the well known brands. People are so hell bent on Kicker and Memphis these days they could car less about your opinion on anything but. Its a sad thing i know but like others said keep it as a hobby or youll learn to hate it when you have to do it for other people all day.

The lower the tune the better low end extension your gonna have. The higher it is the more pronounced and tight its gonna sound. Thats from my experience though and its what ive gathered from all the boxes and setups ive tried. At the same time i had a good friend design mine whos been in the business for years and tuned at 30hz mine has a super wide frequency range. We got mine worked out to go from 18hz all the way up too 79hz and stay almost perfectly flat all the way. So many things to take into consideration but from what i know about BLs when i had mine 34hz worked like a charm in 4cubes after displacement. hope this helps and plz forgive me if this sounds stupid im dead tired.

well i was saying if you get it before pre-order is over its less than the 3500D right now. I was at jakes the other day and i think he had a bunch of 3500Ds sitting around from trade-ins you could always try and contact him about it. Not completely sure if they were or not though. Im using a 3000D with good results so that's always an option and you can usually pick one up for under 500 in mint shape. Also don't for get you could always get 2 1500D's and strap them. After rise you would most likely be in the .7-.9 ohm load per amp.
