The original Strokers could sound very good in the right install, they were basically pro audio woofers in the same vein as B&C and Selenium No idea how the newer ones are...or which ones he's talking about...

How did you get that out of that

They thought I was an idiot too, so don't feel alone Waste of a company to me...

That Morel Ultimo just sounds so damn good Good deal. I'll try to make it to the next one -
I have no motivation to do any work right now.

In a parallel to what Robert said, also don't forget that power requirements can be very different in a home. Because you can make the enclosure basically however large you want, you often times don't need to run the driver up to its RMS rating for excellent results, making amplifier selection easier on your wallet. I'd look into the IB route as well, the Icon that I've heard IB in a car sounded amazing, so I can only imagine what one or more would sound like at home

When I first fired up the SV811's, my apartment reeked of polyurethane for a week straight because I didn't realize how much heat the things would produce

Oh boo, the 300B amps aren't up for auction

Found someone locally that's giving away an automatic turntable that has an issue with the arm, thinking I can cannibalize the motor and platter for a DIY record cleaner Now I just need to find someone selling a vacuum cleaner cheap...

Nice that he's a '1200MK2 fan The rest really isn't my thing, so I can't comment on it...educated buyers really don't need videos to sell speakers, but it's a different idea, I guess.

Sounds like the BL would be perfect for what you want.

It's mixing and matching tweeters and midbasses/midranges Basically doing the job that the makers of passives are doing, but you have control over the tradeoffs that are made.

What do you mean by more info? I'd lurk on ZaphAudio and read all of his reviews...look on Madisound for what fits into the budget...

I'd rather go with a DIY set...

I've never joined a car forum And the kind I'd probably join wouldn't have audio sections...

Sheet metal is just an obstacle to be overcome

Need some help....Please...
JimJ replied to WildSebring's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
If you aren't getting any preout voltage, either that set of preouts from the head unit are dead or you have a crossover set wrong that's attenuating the output...I'd try checking to see if you have a filter set somewhere, or maybe swap out head units with a known good unit. You were using your meter set to AC volts, yes? -
Listen to any Dave Brubeck? Lee Morgan? Sonny Rollins?

Maybe there is something to T-nuts and fine thread bolts

so the 4 ohms with the 175w just means that theres less power? and the 250w at 2 ohms means theres more power? is it even nessacery to measure your system by ohms, or should you just go by the watts? or is there subs/amps or whatever that come like 100w @ 2 ohms and then a different one that can be 100w @ 4 ohms? Those plus a hard drive full of Tool, Metallica, Dream Theater, I think could be a good start.
