Team Coveralls likes 'em young

Wait a second, you're not underage, so you're safe from him...
-
Oh, yes, my world revolves around that.

Part of the problem I would think is that hands-on is simply getting harder to do in something like EE these days. You could do surface-mount stuff hands on, but anything much smaller than that and you're into some pretty specialized stuff...

Do they teach you in that class where all the electrons go when they fall out of the cables into the carpet?
-
I'll be probably pulling an all-nighter tonight to finish up some ERP homework - piece of cake difficulty-wise, it's just a lot of it and I've been slacking off to the end. What kind of circuit theory?

Make one in that case. Although so far you haven't said who you're talking about, so I don't know what you're expecting out of this. Post count means squat. If someone's immature, doesn't matter if they have a hundred posts or 20,000. The reverse is also true.

NEW LAW!!!! (important read) everyone please
JimJ replied to scizzle's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
I can't even begin to list the number of posts where I've seen the "turn it up to drown out the guy next to you at the stoplight" attitude, even from people who should be old enough to know better. With that kind of behavior, it's no surprise that the public at large has such a negative impression of the entire hobby. -
NEW LAW!!!! (important read) everyone please

This is not the point it's just the fact of how harsh is that impounding your car C'mon now. You know that a cop having a bad day is totally going to pull someone over who is just listening to their stereo relatively quietly and impound their car and fine them 650$ you can't tell me that's not wrong. Don't go off on on other things cops can do too I am just saying you know this will happen when you give people too much power especially police. (Let me Clarify I have no Issues with policemen.) you need to vote against it and fight it now before it is a law ............ i live in the dade county and i cant have a pitbull (pitbulls are band by law in dade county) becaus of the same narrow minded style of thinking.............and it will take millions of dollers to change that law now in dade That line of thinking comes about for the same reasons. In that case, idiots that owned pit bulls and used them for fighting ruined the breed's name for the responsible owners out there. In audio, idiots that didn't know or understand that the rest of the world doesn't want to listen to Young Jeezy created this backlash for the rest of the audio community, to the point where mobile audio has a very bad reputation in high-end circles because of the stereotype of the rap-playing teenager with a rattling trunk and tweeters audible for a mile away. -

100% in support of that law. -
Since when did hippies get so goddamned self-promotional? Because it's Earth Week or something this week, there's a bunch of speakers and shit on campus...went to one tonight, basically it was this guy and this merry band of overachievers patting themselves on the back for all the action committees they've been on and showing pictures of all the protests they've been at. Instead of mentioned one useful thing that they actually do, these assclowns just seemed like all they were good for was getting themselves in pictures, getting name-dropped in podcasts and making up songs about climate change. It's like they all failed Marxism 101... Hey guys, I'm all for clean energy too, but I'd rather be up on a tower installing a wind generator, or on a roof putting up PV panels, or showing people the economics of renewable energy with the cold hard numbers. Hell, this talk even took place in one of the EE buildings, this isn't the liberal arts college in California you're from, this is a school where people are learning how to actually implement the stuff you're kumbaya-ing about.

$2500? We could do some fun things with that A la Scanspeak ring radiators, Audio Technology midbasses...:drools:

I prefer mine to look a little less well-used

I'm just wondering what precipitated this whole thing This is a relatively small group, one of the most annoying things possible is this hush-hush attitude of we-can't-say-who-we-have-a-problem-with. If you have an issue with someone, the least you can do is try to work it out before sending out reports that nobody pays attention to and deferring to other people that probably agree with the person who they have a problem with.
-
I'd just ignore it. The person probably deserved whatever was said, anyway...no reason to change it because someone whines.
-
That would be a good start, if it were me I'd use a tested design like something on Zaphaudio with proven drivers, that way if you want to add a center and surrounds to it at a later date you can have timbre-matched mains, center and surrounds...versus just a clusterfuck of things that may or may not work together.
-
Not really. Break-in of speakers happens, it's a fact, it happens with normal use. The misconception occurs when people think that you're supposed to do something special with them to break them in...
-
May I ask why you need the BP power option? Personally, if you're going sealed the copper coil is a better option, IMHO...
-
I would imagine most of those will not end up in cars, but in homes...
-
There's a lot of truth to that. For the last four years or so there's always been one or two people killed in pedestrian/vehicle meetings here...there's no way of knowing truly how many cell phones are involved on either side, but I'm willing to bet it's a bunch. All the more reason to drive like every other living thing around you is absolutely pucking clueless. You aren't disappointed too often

If you're really concerned about SPL, I would be concerned about over-deadening. Putting deadener in the right places can cause you to gain SPL, yes, but put in the wrong places you might lose...and most competition organizations have limits on how much can be applied before going up in classes...
-
They've been out for a little while, I would have to assume since they're a lower volume product than the rest of the lineups, the people who are doing IB installs will just contact Fi directly about them if they're needed

This is annoying beyond belief. Let's require an add-in program for Excel, that makes it hang every single time I start it up. And I still can't figure out how to set the params I need. I keep telling myself...this is the IT department...this is the IT department...
