Ahh... well, in that case, it might be better to look into actual surplus Motorola equipment, vs. taking ham gear and modifying it. Public service agencies sometimes get nit picky about using non-type accepted equipment for use like that, nothing technically wrong with it, just an FCC thingy. At least that's how it is in the States - although I know a lot of EMS guys that run modified ham radios in their trucks, heh. I don't know how the DOC looks at it, but judging on all their other enforcement actions, they seem to have a bit of brains and common sense, something the FCC sorely lacks.

Linkin Park - Sessions also has some deep sub-bass material on it...

i guess i have two big issues with U2 as of late... 1) I get tired of artists trying to take on the entire world as a "cause". You've got to stand for something - or you'll fall for anything, or so goes an old country tune. I can't keep up with the amount of causes Bono goes after on a yearly basis. 2) If I saw that Ipod ad with Vertigo one more time, I think I would puke.

i'm more of an old school U2 fan... but the overexposure that they had for the new album turned me off from whatever i liked about their new music.

Head units: I've had good luck with Alpine units, I've used four of them, and ever one has done exactly what I needed it to do. Not saying I won't try other brands in the future, but Alpine's been a pretty solid unit IMO. Amplifiers (Car): Even though I really liked the Avionixx 800.2 I had, nothing short of a Butler is going to replace my PG Tantrums, as far as I'm concerned Excellent power/price ratio, simple to use, and haven't given me any problems. It's a shame they stopped making them...I'm not selling my T1200.1 and T500.2 anytime soon. Subs: Even though I'll be trying out a new sub shortly, I'm still keeping my Elemental Designs e12a.22 - for the price, it's an excellent driver. Also a shame that it was discontinued. Amplifiers (Home): For solid-state, the best I've used would have to be my NAD 3020. No frills, just really good quality sound. For tube gear, Decware stuff is the best by far for manufactured amps, the rest are DIY. That's another story in itself, though...
