I actually might get around and order the Fostex drivers tomorrow, too. Woohoo.

Somebody bought my preamp today... and I got the check for my Decware Zen... 2A3 triode goodness, here I come... Damn lead time on the things is 2 to 3 months though. Oh well, that's what you get with hand-built electronics. Hopefully since this is one of the first prototype runs, he'll get off his ass and build it soon.

True, and I'm not losing sleep over this package, but I can't say the same for everything - my mom lost almost a grand worth of perishable flowers three days before a wedding delivery when they simply didn't show up in Memphis. That's what shipping insurance is for, but still...
-
I wonder if these people really think about what they do, or if they sit around at the hubs and throw darts at where the packages are going to today.

You're not going to believe this: http://fedex.com/Tracking?ascend_header=1&...246011822%0D%0A Tomorrow, they're getting an interesting phone call.

<clint eastwood voice> Fedex goons...someone had better feel lucky... Thanks for that.

That approach has always worked for me...although it gets interesting with a few hundred volts. Just keep a hand in your pocket...

Somebody buy my preamp. :whine:

The fundamental concepts of hippy-ism (if that's even a concept, i guess it is) are fine - for their time, they did create some pretty radical change in the system. They also helped to create a new environmental awareness we hadn't had before (think Rachel Carson, Silent Spring)...but, not taking showers, living with a bunch of naked kids running around on dirty communes, and (in somewhat more modern times) whining about the price of bagels and listening to NPR while driving your Volvo doesn't cut it. Hippies have matured into the "armchair environmentalist" - let's save the rainforest, if we can buy it at the Whole Foods store.

I actually have a key chain like that...but it's a clasp for a chain link fence door that I bought at the local hardware store, with two old guys sitting out on front chawin' tobacco and I keep my tractor key and Leatherman on it...so you could hardly call it emo...
-
What about a used copy of Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance? uughh...hippies.
-
Hey...I resent that vinyl comment! Even non-emo'ers listen to vinyl...

YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEE'REEEEEEEEEEEEEEE SOOOOOOOOOOO EMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO *my interpretation of a Used, Hawthorne Heights, or Funeral for a Friend tune* To all those budding "emo/punk/ska-punk/whatever-you-call-yourselves-these-days" musicians out there - if you ever get the urge to scream for no real reason in the middle of a song - please, don't. If you're going to scream, do it like Roger Daltrey
-
emo radio... we don't know what to say, so we scream a lot.
-
sieg heil... No sig pics for you!

What's funny is how some people get uptight about it, as if we're doing something wrong by enforcing rules

Wow...CA.com always impresses me with its intelligence level. C'mon people...600x225px isn't that hard to understand.
-
Based on what I get in calculus...I probably should be.
-
Umm...for a stereo? I'm using 1.8 watts now...but I want to go the directly-heated triode route.
-
3200 watts... silly.

3.2W, my friend Reading comprehension is useful... and it's "sole"...
