font doesn't go well with it, and i think the border needs to be a pixel or two wider. just trying to come up with another sig...not like there's anything going on right now.
-
Not really...but I've still got projects I'm thinking about...open baffles, teh hornz...and I can only listen to one pair at a time just going to be glad when i get my own place in a few months, and can fill it up with all my audio and radio gear...
-
the problem is, i'm running out of rooms to put speakers...i mean, you can only listen to one set at a time i'm afraid it's going to start looking like one of those crazy audiphool listening rooms with amps, cables, and speakers laying all around...wait a minute...i'm already there...
-
not single ended class A's...only commercial one I know of is the Nelson Pass Labs Zen...and there were only 200 or so built. It's a shame too, because I'm sure MOSFETs would sound great in Class A, but there aren't too many of them out there to do ABX testing with.
-
well, those cabs are going to make a kickass pair of monitors...now i just need an amp i'm almost tempted to build a small class A MOSFET deal to go with them...i've always wanted to hear transistors in class A, see how good they can really sound. a simple single-ended circuit should be pretty easy to build, just need a schematic for one.

That's what I hear... although, my next project is going to be nekkid wood.
-
time for teh fud. looks like we're going to get some t-storms soon.
-
Why don't I just steal some OSB and build it out of that? Those would look really good in the living room...especially with $150 drivers in them
-
That's what I was afraid of...I know furniture grade 3/4" ply is $45 a sheet, last time I checked. I'll need to buy four 4x8 sheets. Suck.
-
How much is Baltic Birch usually for a 4x8 sheet...while I could always drive down to Lowe's when I get dinner in a few, I'm lazy right now
-
as i wait for someone to pm me back (on another board)... arrrghh.
-

and before Steve steals the rest of my playlist... The Band The Beatles (later stuff, not their pansy-teeny-bopper early years) The Byrds The Ramones Queen this could go on for a long, long time... -

Good thing you're far, far away from me... although it's a minivan, so I'd wish you happy hunting.

And avoid the whole liquifying-the-air thing... Actually, there is a point where too much sensitivity is a bad thing. Because of the inherent hum in tube output stages (because you're dealing with a tube rectifier and listening to any hum that makes its way into the power transformer secondary) once you get above 101dB it starts getting annoying...very low power triodes like Type 45's are used with 103-104dB/W Klipsch beasts (with output powers around a watt and a half)
