i'll try to get some pr0n...although I don't have an actual digital camcorder, just a chitty movie mode on my camera. But it should be enough for a few seconds of speaker annilihilation.

I've got two cheap-ass 8" drivers from a pair of Yamaha 3way pieces of crap I've had for a while. The cabinets are starting to crack, so I'm going to keep the tweeters for some future project and introduce the two 8's to Mr. Tantrum 1200.1. I'm sure they'll like 1450wrms with the bass boost turned up, free air.

rackmount behringer 2500 + dbx or behringer xover + uber in 17-18Hz bass reflex + towers = property destruction. I like.

Oh baby. Or Adire's Apex towers.

I guess I'm being really optmistic here, but are there any pieces of software (free, would be nice ) that accurately model horn-loaded speakers in room? I'm trying to model efficiency gains from different types of enclosures, and most modeling software comes painfully short... All the research I've done on horns doesn't give actual numbers for efficiency gains; of course, most of that is room/placement dependent, but some general guidelines would be nice to go on...

don't kid yourself - you're going to have that thing cranked up. I only had two complaints from my system. One from my RA (dear Lord, he put up with a lot from us...) walking by, apparently not appreciating "Layla" at 3AM. Oh well. Another was from the girl that lived above us, when I was playing the theme from Boondock Saints ungodly loud on St. Patty's Day. She said I was vibrating the mirror in her room - I was about to tell her what I could vibrate but left it alone The guys down the hall would always play rap, so somehow they would always get more complaints than I ever did.

Same thing here in the States.

Actually still don't have an amp for it, and might be selling locally if this guy ever gets back to me on crapaudio.com.

Ideally, I'd go with the larger driver...so the 6.5" Aerogel mid.

anyone know any good SACD-compatible players? i saw one for $140 in the latest Crotchfield's catalog, 'twas a Sony one with a 5-CD changer. Sounds interesting, but maybe there's something else out there that's a better value.
