This brings back memories of my roommate freshman year playing the same damn five songs for months, over and over and over again.

The one Mythbusters episode that gives me the chills is when they tested the breaking strength of steel-toed boots...and the steel turned into little toe-guillotines. I don't want to think about that...

Rl-p 12" Dilemma: To keep or not to keep?

I bet you'll have enough output with 300W...of course, I'd rather ditch the 6x9s and use the 4-channel to run the components active, but that's another story

  18. You can get a plain multichannel amp with absolutely no features other than being a power amp, but chances are you'll be spending hundreds more for one than what you can pick up a mass-market, mid-fi surround receiver for. Of course, the quality level will be orders of magnitude higher, as well The multichannel amp section on Audiogon would be the place I'd look for one...
  19. Not really. Anyone that really wants serious performance is going to go with seperate speakers and a subwoofer anyway How serious are you about this? You could either get a cheap 5.1 receiver and leave the sub running off the low level output and the plate amp...or you could get a seperate five channel power amplifier that'd be ready if you wanted to upgrade the speakers in the future.

    Folded horn style

http://www.frugel-horn.com I was going to build a pair of Spawns for my main speakers in the SET rig, ended up with BIBs though as they used a lot less wood. But the guys that design those plans really know what they're doing. Almost every design on that site has a corresponding DIYAudio thread in the Full Range section, helps answer any questions you may have or if the designers post updates/revisions... Horns are very fun

    Help Again!

If you're looking for undistorted output in any meaningful way, yes.

I Googled that Dragon's Tail road...holy shit, Kent, you were right, that looks interesting Makes the BRP around here look like a freeway...I've been on the NC side of the Smokies before (really good kayaking on that part of the Nantahala), but never gone in to TN that way.
