Yeah, started up fine and sounded good, but who knows...those SOHC fours seem to be bulletproof but I wouldn't trust it if it's sat outside for that long. I don't feel like doing a total gasket replacement just yet

So offer $800. It's a buyer's market right now. My first offer was $1000 I have a feeling Kent was right and I won't be finding something until December or so...

Well, I'm still scootless. With 4.5k on the clock, frame rust scares me...along with faded instrument dials and a tach that won't go back to zero. Not to mention a seat off of a K model, on an F frame...why change seats if there's really that little mileage on it? Eh...too many questions, not enough answers...maybe for $800 I could justify taking everything apart and coating what needs to be coated, but I'm not paying $1400 for something that's sat outside since Gorbachev.

I wasn't referring to any one specific model from Crown...they may have a stinker or two in their product lineup, but their higher-end stuff is quite nice -

I wouldn't phrase it like that, besides, low efficiency by itself is not a bad thing Crown & QSC already do -

For a new-ish bike, I like those Looks a lot like a Triumph Speed Triple to me, I bet the parts cost is a whole lot more attractive though

Yes. I would probably run sealed, in all honesty...very deep extension, and usable for music as well -
If it's 35mm we're talking about... For ease of finding good lenses, it really comes down to either the Nikon F-mount stuff or Canon. Both had a wide selection of good prime lenses, and I'd really recommend a 50mm prime lens for anyone starting out. Not only are they usually a lot "faster" than the short-zoom kit lenses (both have very good f/1.4's, heck of a lot faster than a standard medium zoom), having one focal length reduces your mental workload starting out and reduces the urge to get fancy with extreme wide angles or telephotos that compress the DOF. I had a Canon A-1 starting out, worked great. Although I liked the Contax I had more, I could never afford more than one Zeiss lens - with the Canon, you can buy a whole drawer full of lenses and not break the bank
