How the hell did you get a 400 amp service installed in a house? 200 amp is the highest codes allows, unless something has changed in a couple weeks. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I thought the NEC specified 200A as minimum for residential use, but put no caps on the upper limit...I'm probably wrong about that though. All I know is my parent's place has a 400A single-phase panel for the main service, and a 100A auxiliary panel that's patched in to the generator. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 200 is the minimum. Any more and they are supposed to install another service. I'll have to check on that tomorrow though. 400 amps is getting into the commercial zone though. That's got to be a mighty expensive service there. . . Better hope nothing goes wrong with that main breaker. It'll be a nice little chunk of change. On a lighter note, thanks for posting that CA.com link. It's taking up too much of my valuable time. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, the entire house was spec'd to be way overbuilt 12awg where only 14awg Romex was called for, etc, etc...you could probably run a plasma torch and not get a voltage drop on the second floor... Too bad the structural elements need work, like the chimney supports were built wrong and now need to be rebuilt as water flows under the flashing and has ruined the drywall underneath And there's the small matter that the front door is currently 15 feet off ground level. Oh well.

http://forums.caraudio.com/vb/showthread.p...163#post1179163 Now I understand why my house blew a 400A panel after supposedly passing "inspection". "Professionals"...heh.

$1K for flowers...how many guests? Sounds like a nice and small event.

Like I said before, if you really knew the markup, you'd kill me But the photographers and musicians are lucky. At least they get fed. The florists don't.

Sex is usually on the short list of things that stop me from wishing a fiery end to all humanity. I don't play golf, but I'd substitute fishing in for it.

Time to put the NAD 3020 on the Klipsch's and see how he likes that.

my calc TA doesnt teach at all, he just goes through problems without really explaining a whole ton and he's either french or gay... or both <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Most likely both. le arrrrrrgh!

My accounting TA is pretty good. The Econ guy just needs to know how to teach - he'll literally start into a whole new subject at 1:08, when the class gets out at 1:10...he will not stop one second early. Most of the class simply stops paying attention around quarter to... My calc prof is nice as hell, she has a really browd New Yawk accent...sounds like she just arrived from Brooklyn yesterday. But it's better than Pakistani
