I read about Ascendant's new product releases... 18's for 2 Bejamins? Sounds like the van could use two...or three...or four... There's a moratorium on walls, though

My latest project. Going to be the amp in my living room, driving a pair of backloaded horns (hopefully). Around 6wpc @ 8 ohms from pentode-connected EL84's. The original amp worked, but it wasn't very pleasing on the eyes - Ugly yellow lettering on the transformer, and the entire amp was covered in fine surface scratches and other discolorations that aren't very noticeable in that over-exposed photo. So after disassembling the tube sockets and front panel, I put masking tape over everything I didn't want painted and put several coats of Rustoleum hammered enamel over it: The tubes I'm using with it...from left to right - British-made EZ81 rectifier, Zenith new-old-stock 12AT7 input tube, and the original black plate EL84/6BQ5 power pentodes...they seem to work for now, but might replace them with newer ones soon. Tomorrow night I'm going to reassemble most of it, need to re-solder some connections and check to make sure all the wiring is intact. More pics as things progress...

Part 15 FM transmitters, for the most part, are crap. All basically derived off the BA1404 "transmitter-on-a-chip". You can get much better results using higher-power transmitters, but be careful where you buy them from, as anything over 500mW or so of output power is illegal

I like that Late Night Alumni stuff that dude posted on CA.com - the Seemingly Sleepy song is awesome in my opinion. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> if you like that music, IM that guy (ExS, aim SN is EZ81). he has every trance, techno, house, blah blah music known to mankind. he sent me a lot of music, but I had to block him cuz he kept asking me daily what my favorite song that he sent me was lol. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Send me some of the best driving-type stuff when I get back on DSL

I second the notion about trance making me speed. I was doing a constant 85+mph on the way home from VA the last time...and in the van, that's fast. As far as classic rock tunes for driving, hmm... Hagar - I Can't Drive 55 (obviously) Spencer Davis Group - Gimme' Some Lovin' Stones - Satisfaction ZZ Top - Sharp Dressed Man Tom Petty - Running Down a Dream, Refugee Jackson Browne - Running on Empty JCM - R.O.C.K in the U.S.A Journey - Seperate Ways Doobie Bros - China Grove Springsteen - Born in the USA, Murder Inc., No Surrender Boston - More than a Feeling, Peace of Mind, Don't Look Back, Corporate America Bon Jovi - I'd Die For You, Raise Your Hands (big hair! w000t!) Bob Seger - Roll Me Away, Against the Wind, Turn the Page AC/DC - Stiff Upper Lip Some folk-type music is cool when driving long distances...I love turning on Lightfoot's "Early Morning Rain" and Canadian Railroad Trilogy in the mornings... I don't know, you probably knew all those before anyway. CCR is excellent driving music - between Susie Q, Proud Mary, Travelin' Band, Penthouse Pauper, Who'll Stop the Rain, Wrote a Song for Everyone, Lodi, Put a Spell on You, Fortunate Son, Green River, Cotton Fields, Born on the Bayou, Bad Moon Rising...yeah, I'd say they have a few good songs
