The "X"con 12" prototype has arrived
JimJ replied to Mark LaFountain's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
I wouldn't have a use for it, but at least if SSA gets into this market I'm sure it'll be done right -
amps that can run active?
JimJ replied to joe dirte's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
If your head unit doesn't have the processing, I'd probably find a way to either upgrade that or install a small outboard crossover. Adds another component, yes, but if you're relying on the amp to do it you don't have a lot of flexibility there. With a separate crossover you have the flexibility to switch amps to better suit your install if need be...and a lot of the time they're easier to adjust -
40-45Hz is way too high for most music.

I could use a trailer myself...little difference between tying a scooter down and keeping a 500lb+ bike from moving around without any hard tiedown points

Different woofers will have different responses at those frequencies...I'm just curious as to what your reference for "sounding good" is

I find it hard to find good fiction to read...or maybe it's because I don't really sit down and finish a book like that chronologically all that often. I have a dozen or so that I really like but I should expand that...

Custom welded grills would look rather sharp, IMO The high-clearance grills from Parts Express may not look the best, but they do protect the driver from shifting cargo somewhat, as long as something doesn't get through the bars and pokes a hole in the cone.

Definitely not a Jersey-wide thing, friend of mine in the dorms was from Jersey and had a lifted Ram...first time I saw it I asked if it was to drive over the toxic sludge...

What are you after? Dave Edwards (a moderator on this site) had a PG MS1000 and Sundown SAZ-1500D running with no problems, but he wasn't after maximum output and the equipment was operating well within its limits. Start to push things, and you may run into problems... -

Is that the same UNCC I'm thinking of, or a more northern one?

As long as there's Fergie on the radio? I can't believe I didn't join here sooner...didn't know what I was thinking...

Doesn't quite have the coolness factor of the '70s ones, but hey, if it's a cheap commuter it's a cheap commuter.

Kent, you rode a Nighthawk at one point, yes? I got another hit on my WTB ad, someone with an '89 Nighthawk 650...said it needed new tires, battery and had a small oil leak. Did you ever replace the oil seals? Supposedly on the SOHC's it's a piece of cake, but I'm not sure how complex Honda got in the '80s with the DOHC's...

So where exactly does the "imaging" part of this come into place?

Not like the state fair in NC is that much better, haven't been to that one in a while either.

I went to a county fair in Indiana a couple years ago, I literally don't think anyone female over the age of 17 or so wasn't pregnant or had a kid already.

I've been asked for a job by people looking for construction work at gas stations...
