Amplifier for Morel Ultimo 10"
JimJ replied to Blitz's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
They're discontinued now, but I've always been a fan of the ARC XXK's Or something Zapco...Helix...Zed...you've got a lot of choices to pick from in that budget. That's a very nice sub -
Wewt, found a torrent for the new MS Visual Studio 2008, hopefully it works and SP1 works with it...

http://richmond.craigslist.org/mcy/816937148.html Just need something like that to pop up in a month or so...
-
You'll need to factor in upgrading the wire as well, 2 awg and that amp are not compatible
-
Head unit? Anything for sound above 80Hz?
-
It doesn't state it because it's a useless thing to know. why only half of the power? wont it be just a little less...beast? Something you'll realize is that just because a speaker is rated for a certain amount of power, doesn't mean you have to send it that much power for good results
-
You don't need a kW plate amp...half that would work just fine And if this is a learning experience, you might as well get some construction under your belt instead of buying an enclosure. It doesn't state it because it's a useless thing to know.

Sounds like Ramos has a European counterpart
-
<--- far from sober
-
If you're one of the few sober ones there, should be easy
-
There's always that sanding sealer that Matt & Ramos have recommended...(Deft?) Might help with the edges...but veneer would look sharp too

I've shipped a couple tube amps to folks in the Great White North, but it was always USPS. Never had a problem until I tried Fedex to PEI earlier this summer, and it ended up getting smashed to bits Insurance comes in handy...

Actually the RD product I listened to (Alpha v1) didn't sound all that bad - wasn't anything special, and certainly wasn't worth what they were charging for it. But it didn't do anything particularly bad - although I was told later versions would be more SPL-oriented which would change things a bit But the conduct of their online reps was. Childish would be putting it mildly...not people I would want to support with my money, I'd rather shop elsewhere

Just because you have an amp that can provide 1200W @ 1 ohm doesn't mean that you have to configure it to do so. Get the dual 2 and set the amp up within Fi's recommendations...

Lightning quick, as in DHL will smash your packages to oblivion lightning quick. At least that has been my experience, and that's just their domestic service No idea about their service to Canada, but I'd be careful.
-
Sounds like you could probably raise your tuning to 35 or 40Hz and be satisfied with the AQ.
-
This Hefeweizen is shit, though
-
I notice as I get more drunk my smiley usage goes up... Hmm...
-
Concrete? I mean, I have no problems with dedicated SPL vehicles but if it causes damage to something you need for regular use something is up with that

There's a couple sportbikes just in my little area of apartments this year...a Katana 600, a GSXR 750 and what looks to be a CBR 1000...and a 50cc scooter

Weld something in there and turn it down?

Unless you have a specific reason to do so (custom fiberglass work or whatnot), I'd have to recommend SI's Mag 12" for that price range. Doubtful you'll notice any output loss if it's accuracy you're after, and it's a good option for your budget. As of now, it's really the best sounding 12" driver I've heard that's under $700. The OZ Audio ME 15" is slightly more than the Q, IIRC, but it's a very good-sounding alternative as well. Or you could check out the Mach5 IXL series, I haven't heard them personally but some people have whose ears I trust
