The real IHOP sucked tonight. First, there were maybe five tables taken up in the whole place. I get seated next to one full of choral music majors...three guys, and this one chick with one of those loud, grating laughs. I was talking on the phone, and I made it very obvious at one point..."Yeah, out of the whole place they sit me next to one of the LOUDEST..." That shut them up for a few minutes. She seriously needed a punch to the ovaries. Yeah, I was outnumbered three to one, but c'mon, they're vocal chorus majors, I figure I could take two of them out and still make a somewhat clean getaway.

And I really need to be going now...but it's like crack, I just need another post...

Decent solid state preamps are in the $100 ballpark. I'm looking at a Parasound half-rack space unit, or one made by Creek...plenty of options around that pricetag.

amen. i can't keep it below 75 most of the time..lol... when your riding, you tone everything out. the wind, the road, the cars..your cruising. because you and the bike move together, you just slip into a natural state of comfortable. on my scoot, that's right around 75-80mph for cruising. everything flows. next thing you know, your there...lol..and wishing you'd slow down so it would take longer. and you catch those straights....you can't do 55, but sure enough, there's three cars who can. you grab a gear, roll the twisty thing, and next thing you know...100+mph. and it takes a bit to slow down too...it's too much fun! i regularly get 120 on the scoot, she good for a few more, but that's all the speedo reads. when i had my katana (smooth bores, vaneand hines, extra tooth, ported and polished) the best i got was 155mph. by speedo. probably closer to 135 actual. anything over 100 usually guarantees the morgue. so you don't sweat it. your not going to feel it anyway. not for long anyway. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I remember in the making-of extras for Easy Rider, Fonda and Hopper were bitching about having to ride the choppers at really slow speeds (under 40mph) in order to get the scenic backgrounds in from the camera car. Makes sense it would be easier to ride at higher speeds than to keep something like that steady without inertia helping you along.

Some dude on Raleigh/Durham Craigslist is selling two Technics SL-1200's with Shure carts/stylii and flight-rated hard cases for $900. May not be a bad deal when you figure in the cases, but I don't need those Nor do I need the other table...

Ben had said in a thread that eD was the sole manufacturer involved in their Kv.2 and Ov.2 lines, to which I replied "What about ID?" Even though he said it was a "big misunderstanding" in his emails to me, he still didn't answer why his cronies felt a ban was more appropriate than a simple PM.
