Natural hiss? Single-ended output stages have a low-level hum that doesn't go up as the volume increases...but where that's an SS output stage, I wouldn't expect there to be much of a hiss. Especially not on (relatively) low efficiency speakers. I have a slight hum with the Klipsch's, but then again, those are several times more efficient and even then I can't hear anything more than a foot away or so. I bet it's due to them using really high gain tubes - 12AX7s are known for being "hot". Dropping in a pair of GE 5751's would drop the preamp stage's gain by 30%, but you're there and I'm here Now that you mention it, it'll be something I try when it's finally my turn with it...

This SQ collection sounds like something I should have.

SQ collection? Hrm?

They are small looking little guys too. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Most 12V signal tubes are the same size...12AU7, 'AT7, 'AY7, 'AX7 tubes all fit into the same socket and take the same voltages, the only difference is the amount of gain.
-
Are these 12AX7's or 12AU7's?

There's a Mac 240 in mint condition, currently at $750 with a couple hours to go. But it's...boring. Just another push-pull tetrode amp if it weren't for the name

http://cgi.ebay.com/829B-3E29-Triode-mode-...1QQcmdZViewItem Going to see how far the bidding goes up in the next few days. I'd rather not pick up another single ended amp as I already have the SV811's, but...that's f'ing beautiful. And I've only seen one other 829B-based amp before. Of course, now that I've said something about it, some jakcalope will drive up the bidding to over $1k and make me not afford it. That's usually what happens if I say anything

Is it like what Alpine does with the AI-Net adapter...no direct inputs on the unit, but there's an adapter to give you that connectivity? I don't know Pioneers, so that's why I'm asking.

Yet another reason why I don't use eDead/P&S...

I pWn3d her, though, right ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So she broke up with you, yet wants you to act like her BF and not hang out with anyone else? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Basically ... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> As long as you're still talking to her, you haven't pwned anyone... Cut her off and move on.
-
what does she drive? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> A triumph spitfire , don't know what year. But the thing looks like it just rolled off the factory floor. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> She must... 1. Know the right people 2. Have a powerful set of lungs

The response would have been..."Well, if you're looking for something hard..." "You won't find it in this house."
-
Eh, is she good looking at least?

I'd say all women are "moody people", just some less than others...

It's only illegal if you get caught...

Yep there terrible and now your intimate with them. Hard for me to do 1) -- little digi and 2) the only tripod I have is a Bogen that will hold a 100lb camera, too big to fit in the truck <{POST_SNAPBACK}> View camera tripod? Now that's beefy

Huh? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> was wondering who else would pick up on this... maybe he should've taken spelling 101 and typing 101? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Don't they teach how to proofread in English classes anymore? At least they did when I was taking one...

Fuzzy pics...bah! That's what they make 1. Fast lenses 2. Tripods
-
But they dropped the 13 and 20wpm tests anyway, so it doesn't matter
