Freaking full size imperial horns last I heard . Nah. Six feet tall, but very narrow Imp's are tall and take up floor space. I've got a couple options for cabinets if I go the horn route...basically comes down to normal, mildly insane, and committed...but I don't have the room for the two bigger options up here, and part me wants to run them in the apartment real bad...

$250ish shipped? I hate to lose a ton of money on these, they're brand-spankin' out of the box... But it will all depend on whether or not I can get what I want for the price I can afford, lol. I told this guy my budget at the AK meet, he said he'd be willing to work under that, so we'll see...

Altec's...100+ lbs per channel, the horns and compression drivers are rated down to 300Hz and have a sensitivity in the 110dB/W/1m neighborhood. Built for several hundred-seat movie theaters in the '60s, but it turns out they sound damn good when put in slightly different cabinets, rip the stock Xovers out and bi-amp 'em actively

The rough forms can be done in a day. Sanding, on the other hand...

Hmm...26 cubes for two...I got that I wouldn't trust any numbers winISD is telling you. It's not the best tool for the job, by far...

Might be selling the Fostex's soon. Friend of mine with some stuff I want told me he's liquidating a large part of his horn collection...I wouldn't even try to move this stuff into my apartment, way too large...but it'd be worth the wait and then some Need to see how much he's wanting, don't want to jinx anything yet.

If you don't own a DMM, you really have no business doing anything electrical yourself...

So...umm...turn the subbass down? I've never understood the idea of trying to make the front stage loud enough to overcome the subbass, when the obvious solution is just to turn the bass down in the first place.

4 midbasses are going to be tough to get sounding right, from a phase point of view...unless you have them running as a psuedo-three way with one set crossed over lower than the other. Unless you're just trying to get loud, in which case just buy whatever's cheap and throw them in.

http://www.zaphaudio.com Read his reviews I'd look into Seas, their CA18RNX seems to get good reviews. And a few people here use them (///M5, Adrian_D) Or Adire Extremii if you can find them.

I really hate shopping. It involves navigating hordes of people, and that's something I loathe. But it needs to be done.

Running a W-200, why not run active with the H701 processor? Seems a waste to go passive when you've got that kind of source.

Listen to what you've been told, it's good advice.

Will depend on your listening habits and what you consider "musical" But they're more versatile than a burp-only woofer.
