You're sending the speakers too much power... I don't mean any offense, but it sounds like you'd be much better served by simply ditching the 6x9s completely.

If that's what's recommended, that's what recommended...

I haven't done anything else with them, other than what you already see in the pictures I posted? I need to get some prices on plywood before I do anything else... I want you to build some enclosures... F' plywood, go hardwood. 1) I have someone back in NC who's building these for me. 2) If you know a way I can get 4x8 sheets of hardwood for under $80 a sheet, hey, I'm all for it Ply's going to rape me in the ass as it is...

But those boxes that take "an advanced engineering degree to design" actually have some acoustic benefit of some kind

Looks, I guess. Doesn't look all that good to me either. http://fullrangedriver.com/gallery/display...um=4&pos=68 How to do curves right

For subwoofers, as long as the cone can physically take the stresses it's under I don't see the difference. Problem is making a metal cone that withstands that kind of abuse. On speakers like the Rainbow Vanadium that doesn't have the mechanical travel to stress the cone, it's fine...but those TC drivers show what happens when you have a flexing cone subjected to that kind of strain. Metal cone midbasses have some pretty nasty breakup nodes if you don't cross them over low enough. (might be a good place for Sean's cool laser vids ) If you want to do an 8" two way with a standard dome tweet, any sort of metal is pretty much out of the question. oh...and banana cones kick ass

And yeah, a 15" is definitely a good idea

Next time you're up in this neck of the woods, bring one up and I'll be happy to give my thoughts

Would be interesting to see how this compares to the CSS 12" driver that just came out, as well as the Exodus Audio drivers - both of which appear to be solid choices in this price range.

Yeah, the Fostexes are staying...mostly because I already have them and it's a cheaper alternative than anything else
-
went to Lowe's today, just confirmed how much I'm going to take it in the ass for wood... but surprisingly, the condition of their ply wasn't half bad...
-
I'd like someone to buy the Fostex's like...today...lol

I can't stand Myspace, but I can see the use for a page there...

Sweet! I've never heard those tubes, but I've heard push/pull KT88's before...they rock.

See, I don't come across chit like this unless someone dies and his widow wants the ugly fridge-size speakers out of the living room ASAP.

!!! You get your share of steals, my turn now, lol Split them?
