Nice work. I usually scare the chit out of people at drive throughs, normally I have to do this little swerve manuever around the "8 foot clearance only" pole and come in sideways to the speaker thingy

Can I wire something across the bridged coil of a sub
JimJ replied to dopey's topic in Advanced Discussion
The only reason I'd see for adding resistors to voice coil wiring is to change Qts...but that's just on one coil and not both. -
At your house? Damn. I can see why you're hesistant about the P9 and Power 1000...

Figured I might as well post this...this guy writes for an online e-zine kinda thing (Perfect Sound Forever) and is a big supporter of vinyl. I certainly don't agree with everything he writes, but it's good reading material if you're into audio anyway and want to hear a different perspective Archives are available here: http://www.furious.com/perfect/vinylanachronist.html

D2 version would also be helpful...at least a small batch for use single drivers users. which seem to be most of the SQ world. Plenty of good 2 ohm stable amps out there

...Finish the bat cave? I haven't started anything yet Now, finishing the living room would be nice. -
While I'd like Memphis speakers and their amps, I'm not a fan of their subwoofers.

Next you should get smitten with tubes...then the transformation is complete... -
zomg, i didn't pay TTB or whoever's trendy nowadays for "hybrid" horn plans that magically fit in a trunk...there are people out there that realize the fundamentals of this stuff hasn't changed since the '30s, that make this stuff public domain for anyone in the hobby to enjoy...wow, what an idea, huh?

I don't know, I'm no expert on wall construction, but it just seems like some things you did were unsafe...

The relationship between Xmax and SPL
JimJ replied to DevilDriver's topic in Technical Info & How To's
I'd have the money this summer, but I can think of other audio-related things I could upgrade/buy before screwing with the substage... Damn, now I know why I don't fit in anymore on CA.com -
Tell me you ended up with more than one layer in there...

Stuffed or unstuffed line? Just seems awfully small for an unloaded TL...

The relationship between Xmax and SPL
JimJ replied to DevilDriver's topic in Technical Info & How To's
Good idea for tonight. Thanks Aaron! Yeah, I still need to find the money for an RL-s. I know Kent loved it and anyone that had power for it love it too. I still want to hear one open baffle. A sub with that much travel and a Q that high seems tailor-made for OB bass... -
The relationship between Xmax and SPL
JimJ replied to DevilDriver's topic in Technical Info & How To's
Excellent article. Of course, anyone that's done anything with high efficiency speakers already knows that Xmax as a singular spec is overrated, Lowthers can get plenty loud with a half millimeter of linear travel, just takes a six foot tall horn to do it -
TOP Found this on another forum I'm on... That's part of the motor and bearing assembly for this: http://teresaudio.com/certus/ Spins a 65lb platter up to 78rpm... Yikes.

I'll be doing that this summer, lol.

I'd take either
