The Focal tweeter is a love/hate thing...it's something I'd definitely listen to before buying.

Oh, I've got more weird Celtic music for Dave, he'll like this one.
-
oh won't you staaaaaaayyyyyyy just a little bit looongerrrrrrr

Is there an option for none of the above? I think you'd be better served by going with a solid used amp that's a few years old, versus something new and inferior.

I think the pre needs a re-tubing soon Not really that bad, considering when I bought it the guy said it might need it...and that was two years ago...

Just a relaxing night...amps lit up, feet up...beer in hand...

Have you looked at www.digi-key.com? They have friggin everything. I've bought twice from them and they are very good and timely. Or Mouser, Jameco, MCM, maybe Antique Electronic Supply for the really obscure pots/multi-stage variable caps... If those places don't have it there's a good chance it wasn't made I'm not replacing a part. It's for my senior design project. Need a linear or log taper?

Nope, I put about as much on as I do at Dave's. And the reaction is the same

Back to the apartment. On in a few.

Where in NC are you? If you're anywhere near the Triangle area you're not too far from where I'm at when I'm down there. If you're actually in Murphy...well, I can't help you

I'd look for a used amp on Ebay...something like a JBL BP600.1 or PG Tantrum 2-channel when bridged would work, and would be in that price range

If those places don't have it there's a good chance it wasn't made I use Dave's Insanity in sandwiches Great stuff when you don't feel like feeling your tongue for an evening. But I don't fuck with the extracts...at least I enjoy sauces for a little bit...

I almost forgot that one, I find Buckingham's voice so annoying (and I'm a Dylan fan, that's saying something ) but it really does have a nice guitar timbre to it...

Does Hybrid count? As far as "mainstream" ones go, they're out there of course, but the value is so skewed to DIY it's absurd. Alpine's F1 stuff is great, yeah, but I'd rather have the unbadged SS drivers themselves. Even the Polk SR's probably do pretty well, but a Vifa ring radiator and midbass are a lot less expensive at Madisound and you don't get passive Xovers that'll be useless to you.

I have a ten-spot and a bucket of chicken in my head.

I love when that happens Especially if I talk with people over the phone before meeting them...apparently, my voice adds 10 years

I'd appreciate it if you didn't post this in the home audio section unless you're actually talking about home audio 2nd time this week

It's going to be fun trying to function tomorrow on 3 hours' sleep.

A specific sub size really doesn't have a "sound", I'm kind of confused as to what you mean by that.
-
You really should do it the other way...especially if you're a musician, you'll know when something sounds bad

Eh, fuck it, I'll call AAA...I feel embarrassed but it's why I got it in the first place I guess
