That wasn't particularly funny

Personally, I wouldn't. Losing your hearing isn't worth it. Now, if this was for a dedicated vehicle that would only be used in competition, I'd think differently...
-
I'd be wary of any Hifonics that isn't part of the XX line...

Price notwithstanding, in terms of accuracy the W6v2 more than holds its own against offerings from any of those. The W7, meh. Not my taste. I don't really see a problem with anything else, other than the coaxials in the rear. It's going to come down to how it's installed.

There's a tutorial in the Speakers section of CA.com that might help. Basically you're adding mass to the panels to keep them from vibrating, a very good thing. Because there's a lot of misinformation floating around out there. I'm not sure I follow that logic at all...

I've heard SLC's go deeper than that in Ramos' install

I bought my PG Tantrum 1200.1 used for just under $300. Not one ohm stable though, but full output at four.
-
I'm not sure I'd see a point to it...that'd be trying to solve a problem that doesn't exist. Mo magnet is not always mo betta.

Grey Goose is good enough that you don't need to chase it with anything.
-
For what you're planning to do, I would go for it...
-
Find someone with an oscilloscope...set the gains that way. Re-check all the connections, make sure everything is solid.
-
I haven't heard anything from Diamond that compares to the Z6's...but then again, they're not for everyone.
-
As long as the output is still unclipped, the amp "works" the same no matter where you have the gain set. The only thing that changes is the noise floor relative to the input signal, so boosting the line voltage can sometimes increase the S/N ratio enough to overcome noise issues.

Loose fuse in the power lead?
-
Never wrestle with a pig...you both get dirty, and the pig likes it...
-
Depends on your budget and impedance needs, sometimes two amps are better than one, and sometimes it's the other way around. Just a hint for the future, watch if your Caps Lock is on
-
Nope. More cone area doesn't affect transient response.

If they went up high enough to blend with a typical dome tweet, it'd open up some possibilities for fairly high efficiency MTM's, especially if cabinet size wasn't a concern such as a floorstanding tower. Anything over 90dB/W for a pair and a minimal-ish crossover would have me salivating...
-
Between the two choices you listed, I'd have to say the W6v2's. I've heard both, while neither sub does really anything wrong, I'm just a fan of sealed in a situation like this.
-
Indeed.

I'm curious to try one of those Hemp drivers, I've heard good things about the 8's...
-
You left a ton out... B&K, Outlaw, Rotel, Cambridge Audio, Paradigm, PSB, Totem, Pro-Ject, Music Hall, etc... Oh, I know I did...just that a lot of the t00bed manufacturers come to mind first to me
-
I don't see the Aura NS or Focal Utopia's doing that though I think it's just the demographic...

Congratulations. Indeed, need a florist?
