I've heard that before, and I'm really curious to know why they specify that...doesn't seem like anything would be stopping those woofers from going lower, unless they wanted to save themselves from a lot of warranty repairs from people getting stupid and trying to play 40Hz material through them with absolutely nothing done to the doors...

I think you're looking at it the wrong way...you need to be concerned with the front stage going deep enough to allow a somewhat-smooth transition to the subs. Either of those sets would sound great given the proper install. Which takes time to do...
-
That makes zero sense. If you don't like something, generally playing the same thing louder doesn't make it different...

Between those two, it'd be hard to ignore the greater cone area of the 8"

You need a four channel amp or two 2-channels.

For those, yes, $600 is overpriced. They go for a lot less on the used market. I think you're misunderstanding things. 125W is the combined power rating for the tweet and the midbass, running through a passive crossover. You don't need four channels of amplification unless you're going to be using an active crossover, which might not be a bad idea anyway. Even then, I'm not sure where you're getting that 500W number from.

It's better to forget you have 6x9's in the first place, and concentrate on what's in the doors. The Boston Z6's and Pro60's that I've heard have been alright, but they need more than 100W per side. They're very power hungry.

The last time I drove down from school it was really hot, I had my left arm resting out the window for most of the trip.Only thing that sucks worse than a farmer's tan is a very uneven one Got a link to an example?

Anyone have any recommendations on T-nuts to use? I was looking at those 6-spike and "Hurricane" nuts on PE, wondering if they're any good. I'm not sure I want to use screws on the BIB's, I might be pulling the drivers out to adjust the stuffing and I'm SOL if the baffle gets split...

$400 leaves a lot of room for experimentation. What kind of sound do you like, or what kind of music are you going to be listening to? -
I wonder if this holds true just for the newer models or if the older ones have the same issues, I have a friend who's daily driver is an ex-Spanish army Series II and I don't think he's had any major issues beyond normal upkeep for a vehicle of that era. All the German SUV's I know aren't really made with audio, quietness, window seals, or leather seats in mind

Maybe , I just forked out some dough on an h701 though You bastards and your fancy processors are making me feel inadequate. I remember Ramos saying...no time alignment...no processors...all old school style... : Want to compete against me ? I'll throw the other setup back in the chitbox , and we'll throw down. No proc, eq or anything Sure. I get to put a chair in back, and bookshelf speakers on stands behind the seats

I'd take the H701 over the P9. Although that RUX is a PITA to use, at least the one I was shown was...

I bought a bunch of that off Ebay from some guy in Montreal that sold it for poker tables...still have it in my basement, haven't done anything with it.

Welcome, and I'd avoid that Hifonics.
-
I wouldn't bother with the BP option. I haven't heard an Icon, so I can't comment between those two.

Unfortunately without a lot of eq , not so hot Figured there was a tradeoff somewhere...but sounds like they'd pwn for a three-way?

When did "I'm going to" or even "I'm gonna" turn into "I AM A"?

How's the midrange on the MLI's? If you say there's more midbass...damn...that's saying something.
