So you're going to have a 3-way substage? You'd get a lot smoother response if you just went with one.
-
*shudders* You only need one size of sub for the subbass. Mixing them is a horrible, horrible, horrible idea. A sealed Q or two would have been a better choice...

I think you ordered the wrong driver in the Fi lineup...

another new toy :)

Refreshing to see a PCB that doesn't have any surface mount parts on it I noticed you have the new Knu Karma interconnects...how are those? I was thinking about picking up some myself... -
Five feet is not a long run of speaker wire. 105 feet, maybe. There are a lot of voltage drop calculators out there for wire sizing, do the research...

Walked out of that and went and played Guitar Hero. Wow. Anyone else notice this? Insurance companies must love you.

not like i'm getting anything out of this

to study or not to study

SRV in a Nissan commercial? where will it end
-
Ugh, four hours of studying later and I really don't feel like I know anything...

Cut the wire down to fit...a wire's ampacity is based on length as well as cross section...it's not like you're pushing enough current through it to make a difference over an inch of thinner wire.

But I'd settle for an SAZ-100.8

I really don't care if you wall it off or not, it's just a question of whether or not the compromises you chose are going to make it either unsafe or quiet. And your first response to that came off as pretty arrogant, I don't know if that's what you intended but that's how its received on here. For example, do you have a way to build trim panels that work and still are removeable?

Judging by some of the photos I've seen, Phil does some good work...
-
Yes and no... Like anything, it's a question of how much you want to spend...
-
Actually, yeah, I do. It's not like any of your previous threads have convinced me otherwise.

I really don't feel like studying today, but I have to

Other walls use heavy lag bolts to secure the wall to the vehicle, in multiple places. We're not telling you this because we're being arsehos. We're telling you this because if you place looks over safety, you stand an excellent chance at injuring yourself, or a passenger. But don't listen. I just hope your parents can afford a wrongful death or personal injury lawsuit when it happens...

Parasound is good stuff. Ever since I got my SP-9MKII I've had an ARC boner. Tubed, but it's dead quiet. Half baked.
-
So how are you preventing it from killing you again?

Most every? Hardly. A lot of them are ported because a lot of people want peaky low frequency output for movies, and ported is the easiest way to do that in a marketable way...transmission lines aren't very economical to ship.
-
I thought you said you were getting into SQ? I'd go with the Q's or SSD's...with copper coils instead of flatwound. No extra power handling options needed.

Value Electronics, wooo. I had an Avionixx 800.2 when I first started, didn't have an issue with it but some had a nice habit of their Tripath chips failing...

1. That makes the assumption that Xmax really matters by itself, which it doesn't... 2. Think about swept area - 14mm of linear travel on a 15" is a heck of a lot different than 14mm of travel on a 25" cone
