    my new cdt speakers

I've never been amazed by CDT...midbass is very install dependent, but even in proper installs I wasn't impressed. The "upstage" idea is bad, you should just run a set of tweets wherever it makes the soundstage sound best. It only takes one set of tweets for that
  2. Are you mass loading the line at all? Just seems awfully short for a non-loaded line...considering you're looking at 14 feet or so of length, easy. But I know nothing about these things

    Destination Audio

In ceiling speakers? Ew. Why the compromise?
  4. Flared slot chambered transmission line? No offense meant to you at all, but who have you been talking to?

DIYAudio isn't too uptight, they'll just ignore you if you post something that's already been covered But I swear, those people are allergic to making new threads...instead of making a "Here's my new BIB build", they'll simply tack it on to the 3000+ page thread that's already there

Damn text box is lagging bad.

Im getting a very strong urge to blow off my humanities class. It's my only one today, and the notes are posted online anyway...and we're not going to be covering anything useful...
  8. I'd choose the Sundown as well...

This also means I can't get out of my humanities class like I thought. Such a snoozer

Time to get my laundry and go to bed. 8am is going to come way too fast.

Parts Express or ApexJr.com would be my first two places to look... I bet those little buggers would work well for subs, you could probably put one in a Sonotube, making like a 1:1 transmission line and get some surprising output
  14. There's no substitute for measuring it directly...some manufacturers list a maximum preout voltage, but that may be at the very last volume stop and the unit's clipping the hell out of the signal. On Alpines, for example, it'll start to clip well before the final stop...you have to set your amps with the head unit putting out a clean, unclipped signal. A line driver would only be needed if you had a major inducted noise issue...even then it's not a cure-all.
  15. Depends on how much preout voltage you have...and amps do vary somewhat depending on the value and slope of the pots they use. But it really shouldn't matter because gains are set based on preout voltage and not the position of the pot.

I've never been able to stomach Red Bull. Tastes like refined crap to me.

I've got liquor around here, but I need to be up at out by 8am tomorrow so I can't be too hungover...

SQ people...take a look at this 8" for me...

I'd say even lower than that, 50 to 60...

Finished listening to the SI BM in the ported enclosure, I didn't like it anywhere near as much as the sealed (to be expected) but it needed its fair shake in both.

I need to order vonage soon. Eww Vonage. Just hope you guys always keep your cells handy in case of an emergency. Oink. Or we get what we've been talking about up and running, and I finally get off my ass and encode this pile of trance records I've had sitting here. Trance/house is really a perfect genre for vinyl, instead of singles that are 3 minutes long the singles take up the whole side

Mark VIII's are fine, it's just the idea of a Lincoln pickup seems as ass-backwards as the Porsche Cayenne or a smaller model of a Hummer. When I start seeing them at lumberyards with ladder racks, I'll change my mind...

You...? In a Lincoln? That makes almost as much sense as Dave in a Civic.

You have to be careful though, once you've strengthened the coffee can with resin, it might not break
