I'd say something in stereo...they're not too demanding in enclosure size, could be built into something larger, like a tower...
-
Since I don't know what they are, I can't make a recommendation. Sorry.

He's a n00b beyond belief

I think it's just your listening preferences. For me, a single sealed Q would probably be enough, easily...but you need more. I'd go ported, tuned low at first...and see how that does.
-
Sure, you can reduce SQ easily but you can't get it back.
-
Yes, except Funkytorrents, for now...they're having major server issues...which is annoying me because I'm trying to get five or six albums from there.
-
Do you care about getting louder or sounding better? A flatwound coil will increase power handling, but it's a tradeoff with SQ...
-
STMusic.org is the biggest one at almost 50k users, they just went to invite-only yesterday... There's a couple other private trackers like waffles.fm, what.cd, funkytorrents.com...none are really replacements for Oink just yet.
-
Now THAT is funny. Or not surprising at all.

Folded Horn v. Snail Shell v. Transmission Line

I'm not a fan of that low end rolloff...looks like a much better PA box than hi fi. -
Such a stress relief. That and cutting the trees down in the first place.
-
Horrible idea. Stick with the same size of drivers...
-
I spy an unused spare tire well.....
-
They should post on Head-Fi.
-
The note shouldn't be too much of a concern, that's more of a result of what your testing should show...
-
dBDrag rules are 80Hz and under, IIRC...might even be under 100, I'm not entirely sure.
-
Well, if you're comparing a ported enclosure with a huge peak under 40Hz, of course the sealed isn't going to sound up to par If you're looking for truly low bass, though, it's either sealed, a TL, or tuning a bass reflex extremely low...
-
If they're female and attractive at all, I don't mind...
-
There's a lot of ways to attempt something like this...when you get to that level, it's about testing, testing, testing and more testing. So there's no simple way to start.
-
Because they're idiots. I prefer sealed, but I'm not into "daily pounding" either.
-
I'd avoid anything lower than the Hifonics XX series like the plague. If you can't afford a good quality new production amp, I'd much, much, much rather go with a quality used one instead of something lower in quality new.

the poly is just a budget driver, right, cause poly is not the best of sounding drivers from what i understand. i wish there was a graph on it...anybody have one? I'd take the Poly's midrange over the MLI's midrange...not quite sure what you mean by it being "just" a budget driver, it sounds pretty nice
-
The Poly would be a lot easier to integrate in a two-way.
-
That's a damn shame.

Sounds like Team Toxic Bass would be interested in hiring him
