Sounds like a marketing term for some kind of horn, which is not a T-line. It depends, I've seen lines that end up in the same direction or are straight, all depends on where they're going.
-
No. The best way to do that would be a traditional ported enclosure with a removable port insert for changing the tuning. I'm a big fan of TL's, but trunks and SPL are two things I'd say they don't do very well, if at all

How much power are you actually sending it? There's really no such thing as "underpowering"... The Orion H2 I played with had awful build quality, so if you've got one that falls apart after a while I can't say I'm very surprised...

Scallops are teh goodness.

People will always find a BS excuse to try and stop you from doing something. But my uncle lives by one of those farms and they really are distracting and relatively unpleasant to look at. Before I went to his house I was in the camp that supported them 100% and thought anybody who opposed them was crazy. But having to look at those twirling things everyday would seriously drive me crazy. I hate to say it, trust me. And an oil or natural gas rig is really that much better for its neighbors? I've never been to a commercial wind farm, but I've been to people's houses that have 10kW-sized generators installed and I didn't find it distracting. I guess we don't have to worry about the commercial-sized stuff out here in the East, other than the offshore ones There's a difference between an oil-free society and what's capable now, easily. I don't know enough about chemical engineering and materials science to begin to provide an alternative...but I don't think we should sit idly by and just continue to do things the way they've always been done if we have alternatives that are doable in our own situations, because it's simply what's commonly accepted today.

Check the DJIA lately? And this is only the beginning of the month...

I'll disagree with that as a general statement, I can think of a few exceptions But yes, right now the biggest incentives for RE can't be reduced to an NPV or something concrete and measurable. I wouldn't mind seeing Carter-style tax rebates to help people with the initial investment...

I digress though...

I can't see that. If you don't like the fact that a company is making what you think is an obscene profit, bypass them and do something different I dislike oil companies for the environmental impacts they've created, but I can't be upset about how much money they're making if I'm complicit in that profit. tree hugger!11!!! What I don't understand is why there's all this fervor for offshore oil drilling, but yet when Massachusetts wanted to put a large wind farm off Nantucket they were met with all kinds of NIMBY shit? Are we serious? Like I said before, as long as people are willing to spend $5k on a TV instead of $5k of renewable energy, we're fucked

I have a massive headache, and I don't know why I'm getting stressed about next week early, I guess

Which company sells the best wires

Was that the Tara Labs stuff? -
Mostly SQ? I think you mean mostly SPL...
-
I think you're being too generous

What I wonder is why everybody that's into posting these kind of videos uses a ported enclosure and uses music very close to the tuning frequency; that's a recipe for not having a lot of visually impressive excursion It's certainly not for any musical value, as all we're hearing is microphone distortion. And people's musical tastes are their own, while I find what a lot of people listen to here obnoxious that doesn't mean I mention that
-
And have you noticed their questions are all pretty much the same..."I want to be really loud with lots of SQ"...

If I wanted a CB750 I'd have my pick of them right about now...close to a dozen for sale locally. Don't want to go bigger than the 550 though

Maybe the past was better?

Freq range for mids?
JimJ replied to 5.4SPL's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Depends on how large of a midbass and how deep the tweets can extend, but I'd say 300-2500 would be a good starting point... -
It's curiously wrong...it's like a European El Camino

That's some pathetic writing. I can't even follow that.

I may have a GB in school-related files, and that assumes downloading all the assorted PDFs and separate files that are backed up on Blackboard anyway
-
I'm really thinking about getting a WD 640GB drive in the coming months. I can't fill that past what my ratio would allow at the moment, and they're just going to come out with bigger drives based on the ~330GB platters anyway. Seagate is pushing their platters as it is, I can't imagine a 4 platter 1TB is going to be that quiet. Nice try, I know how much stuff we download
-
But...won't internal drives meet or beat that in a few months? That's why I can't get excited about RAID in the next year or so...technology is getting cheaper faster than I can fill it or I guess QFT... unless we see them

Some people swear by there Monster cables. I wonder if there is any truth to there boner. I have a few runs of 201XLN's in the van, and I've got the 12awg twisted pair in the apartment with the BIB's. There really isn't. Only reason I bought the speaker wire is because Wally World was running a special that day
