    Hexibase Box Design

Without complete dimension markings it's pretty hard to say whether it'll be a good choice... Man, I need to start designing regular ported boxes with Sketchup, slap a logo on it and gain a cult following...

Tell your dad he should post on here, I need another tube geek to talk to He definitely knows what to buy, that's for sure. I like the way that's set up, wouldn't mind doing something like that if I had the space for it.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of California a lot either

    Sub-30Hz tuning

Anyone who doesn't say there's "proof" really doesn't know what they're talking about.
  7. Just hope people are going to give some warning when they do this. For those of us that aren't on broadband all the time, this could slow things down a bunch.

They only come in 12' lengths... Yeah, I re-read Pass's article and the 14' length included the enclosure at the bottom, they were 12' 24" diameter tubes. Indeed it does. Except it's not quite as asinine & annoying as MySpace...although it's trying really hard lately. My desktop is upgradable to 4GB, but I don't know if maxing it out will help or hurt...

Sweeeeet. How big of a room is it going in? Can you fit a 14-foot high Sonotube?

Probably should wait a couple months, nobody's going to be buying amplifiers this time of year...

    Welcome to the IHoP

I'm having this nagging urge to sell my amps...go to 211 SET's... Actually having enough money in my account to do this isn't helping...

    4 MJ-18's for home audio

Build two separate cabinets and run them in stereo That would be fun...would require some pretty stout monitors for everything above 40Hz, though...

    Subwoofer Question

My main concern would depend on what I was building it for For me, I'd look for accuracy...first and foremost. Use of shorting rings or other ways to lower inductance. I'd be willing to deal with somewhat larger enclosures. Insane power handling means jack to me because I don't want to be running that much power to the woofer anyway. 500W would tickle me just fine.
  14. Do you have an inducted noise problem now? I wouldn't swap out head units simply because of preout voltage...I'd do it for something worthwhile, like preferring one interface over another, different features, better processing...

Nah, more like two layers of 3/4" on top of what was already there Well...the first one looked crappy...so I added another

Ramos, you're going to hate me...the BIB's are heavier now The plus side is they're as acoustically dead as they're going to get...

12 Supah Tweetahz. He still wont post what happened to his door pannels. They got disgusted and ran away.

    Welcome to the IHoP

Neil, do you happen to know on Waffles what the minimum downloaded amount is before ratio requirements kick in? They don't seem to have them posted in the normal places...I see 1.05 for Power User, but I can't find anything else other than that...

    xover for bullet tweeters

Nope, do you want me to make fun of you? Let's face it, what they sound like is not high on the list of priorities here, so as long as they don't explode you'll be happy, yes?

Indeed. I've got one of their finish blades on the compound miter now, and if their router bits are anything like their saw blades...
