  1. Call me a pessimist, but that's way too much reading for some of these people that can barely read/string sentences together. I mean hell, make a post that's longer than three sentences and you're liable to get a "Cliff's Notes?" response from some of these people But I agree totally with everything in there, and it does need to be posted somewhere. Thanks.

    I wub 'em... Hmm, there's a QSC USA-900 for sale locally for $250...200W+ @ 8 ohms...would be perfect for the MG1.5's...
  6. Most of the music I listen to never touched a computer in its original form

I was thinking about going with a separate phono pre until the deal came up on the ARC that I really couldn't say no to...and it had a built in one. But I like the idea of moving phono to its own thing. I'm pretty sure ARC makes an XLR version of my preamp (or whatever the latest model currently is), but you probably won't like the price...I sure wouldn't...
  9. Tower Records used to have a pretty good selection online, but they hit the fan several months ago. I'd check out an issue of Stereophile or The Absolute Sound, they usually list new releases and who's releasing them.

SX's are way too peaky to be easily used in a situation like this...

Although I wish more companies would build remotes like the one with the Rogue Audio preamp I had... A big piece of metal with two unmarked buttons, one up, one down. 'Das it.

Used SI Mags from the last generation would be my choice out of all you listed. Almost-perfect sealed box drivers with that kind of power.
  16. Well, next to 7 1/2 IPS tape, but vinyl kicks tape's ass for availability Used ones, anywhere from Audiogon to Craigslist for me. New, I've liked Classic Records' 200g re-issues, Simply Vinyl's 180g, ElusiveDisc, MusicDirect...but be prepared for sticker shock at some of those places.

    Which would be louder?

Who knows. These kind of questions are impossible to answer...

I've come to the conclusion that the state of Virginia pretty much sucks in general.

I'm having to learn how to use Smith Charts for the Extra class amateur radio exam, and it's a royal pain in the ass...I don't like impedance as a complex number
