PNG = Portable Network Graphic file, just another image format like GIF or JPG, except it usually renders in better quality at the cost of a bigger filesize.

Broken tinsels are overwhelmingly a stupidity problem vs. a manufacturing problem...keep the driver in its limits and you shouldn't have problems with anything breaking.
