In a word, no... Going from an amp that has a low-impedance output stage to a high-impedance one is going to make a far bigger difference in DF...and even then, it might not be noticeable.
-
1 ohm nominal...impedance changes depending on cone position, so you end up with an "average" of 1 ohm for the entire bandwidth.
-
I have no idea what you said.
-
Depends on what amp you have, although to get the kind of power you'll need for the BTL you'll probably end up with an impedance between a half and 2 ohms... On the low end of the recommendations, but they do recommend 3-5cF... Depends on your budget... It'll take that power, yes.
-
How much do you have to spend?

giggity giggity goo

Pretty much depends on your budget...

Not all watts are created equal

Not setting the amp up properly...

It sounds like you want to be one of those fart boxes trying to play music...
-
The output from a normal line-level source is around 1-2 volts...the output from a high-output cartridge is around 4-6 millivolts Good phono stages usually do, they're a lot tougher to design than line-level preamps are.

I think you're setting things up wrong if you think that... If "getting loud enough for you" is anywhere near a priority, then you're not talking about SQ at all, really.

Fuck, I logged myself in for no reason Oh well, at least I voted against Mike getting mod powers...
-
Woah, the new moderators have powers?

They're a lot of fun, we don't get enough down here to make it worth it

'twas when I used to live in MA/NH...good times in the snowz....nothing compared to MN though
-
I haven't been on a snowmobile in years, 'twas fun though.

Would have to agree

It's great not having Monday classes Shame it took four years to get to this...

Indeed. I see a bunch of Tektronix ones going for dirt cheap every year at hamfests/surplus electronic shows...for audio purposes you don't need very fancy/high-bandwidth ones.
