Hey, I know that feeling... Except that usually sends my GPA in the same direction

Ramos' suprabaffles are pretty damn good looking, though

Need to experiment a little with finishes too, the Sandeply's going to need some shellac or something first so I can sand down all the little bristles it gets when the sealer goes on...

That's the idea. I should have some pieces of acoustic foam and eight chrome spikes waiting for me when I get there...

which amp is better for a 15" loaded BL?
JimJ replied to slim2fattycake's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Older Soundstream is worth it, the newer SS is not. -
Yay. Got rocked on my quality quiz...we'll see if VBA is any better, I doubt it though Oh well. At 2pm today it's off on the road, go retreat to the woodshop all weekend and the only care I'll have is whether or not I end up with the same number of fingers I started with.

Two tests today, and feeling like shit...mmmhmm, we'll see how this goes...

It came back? Someone should've given me the 411....I didn't expect it to ever come back. It was back for a couple months, seems to be back down again, though

Refurbished,reconditioned
JimJ replied to lee's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Hopefully, they're benched and tested to make sure they're in the same specs as a new amp, cleaned up cosmetically, and sent on their way. There's very little "reconditioning" needed for an amp that's been in steady use, as long as it's not been abused or left to sit for a very long time... -
Subs fail because people don't have an understanding about what they're sending to the subs.

What do they do that's not presently covered by the current manufacturers? Actually, I wouldn't mind seeing a small home audio (or theater, either really) company here in the future. But they need to bring something unique to the table.

Ask them for me why the Scion needs an AC power cord plugged into it during a run

Actually, I'd like to own many pre-war Fords. Non-syncromesh transmissions and me don't get along very well

Those outputs are bridged internally, there's only one channel.

We've got a 4.6L V8 in the new E-150, not sure if it's the same Modular engine you're talking about... I hate it Like the I6 in mine a lot more...

Steve's got the top for me here...
-
Especially in a lower-Qtc enclosure which would sound better IMO, anyway.

We'd grant you "Eternal Noob" status if there was a way to...

Would also have to have the Shiva-X up there.

They'll break if you're stupid with them, like any speaker. Don't abuse your stuff, and you won't have woofers failing on you...I have an almost five-year-old eD e12a.22 that hasn't had one thing go wrong with it. We were putting 10kW into a BTL during the Great 12 Challenge and still couldn't cook it thermally, had to go a full octave below tuning to break it mechanically...we were causing the battery bolts to literally smoke. So when people say they've damaged BTLs in a non-competition environment, I really have to question how out-of-touch they are with system setup.

CSO seems to be down, I hope it's not for a long time again...
-
I'd see if you can torrent it...I've gotten Office '07 and WinXP SP2 with no problems like that

Link? http://coolcat.dk/bjoern/TABAQ_TL_for_TB.pdf They aren't going to be world-beaters, but I got these free and figure I could do something halfway-decent for them...whole lot better than the plastic bass reflex Logitech boxes they came in
