That's not a lot of port area...
-
So, I'm basically broke... I have enough to make one last PE order for what I need for my apartment setup, and then maybe $50 for some more records, and that's pretty much it.
-
1) The port area of 2 2" ports is about half of a single 4"... 2) Personally, if I were you I'd go sealed with the new Mag. Would solve your space problem nicely, and the driver would be a lot happier. Just my opinion.

I was under the impression at the time that I wasn't allowed to take pics. I've since been told otherwise, I guess if Hicks wants to post 'em up he can, but the front of it looks like any other poly-dustcapped, rubber surround paper coned driver out there

Where does your install peak, though? 45Hz? 50Hz?
-
They really don't need that much power to get satisfactory results...I thought 900W to one was plenty. Even "exceeding" the size for a sealed box isn't always a bad thing, after all, infinite baffle is simply a very large sealed enclosure. Just reduces mechanical power handling, but that's not a bad thing, necessarily.

Go...Celtics? Never would have guessed I'd be saying that, but oh well. At least I'll have someone to cheer for now that Tech blew pretty much every chance it had to be in the NCAA's. Beyond cheering for anyone who has a chance to beat UNC, of course.

Totally depends on where your setup peaks...

My thoughts on the Mag are up...

Welcome to the single driver cult, enjoy your stay

I think it'd have to be like a silent film...show a minute or two of action, then post up a sentence or so explaining what's going on...
-
Correction, if the music's too distorted, you're too old...and pencil me in as too old
-
Why don't you make like a tree, and...please leave kindly.

I'm having a shrimp and pasta craving like none other right now...Sean, know any good recipes?

Easy there on the caps

Just use a ruler and measure the diameter of the cable...

I'd hardly call the W6v2 a "rich boy toy". The $1300 Aura MR might have a little better claim to that, but even its $750 less-cosmetically-fancy cousin the NS is still worth it, IMO. But no matter what the price is, it's really irrelevant when you're talking about the actual product. Value is a relative thing... Are you being sarcastic? That's not at all how magazine reviews work...
-
Yeah, like underpowering speakers, right
-
It's the wrong way to do it no matter what the amp does.
-
Gains aren't set in volts, they're set depending on the preout voltage of the head unit and where the amp's clipping threshold is. If it's an overrated amp, find someone locally who has an oscilloscope and set it up right.

I like Chopin for vodka...

I preferred them sealed...

Most magazine reviews of this kind of stuff are jokes, hell, the reviews of mainstream stuff are jokes a lot of the time as well. The only way you're going to get an honest idea is by 1) listening to them in person, or 2) trying to get as many opinions from people who have the same goals as you.

I'd say the new Magnum from Stereo Integrity offers W6v2-esque performance for less...
-
Have you heard a W6v2 in a sealed enclosure versus that T4?
