Feeling like an idiot - realizing I just drove across town to the Math Empo only to realize that one assignment isn't posted online and I left the instructions back in the apartment. Oh well, I can at least get one other thing done while I'm here...

What does this have to do with Fi products?

If the processor is like a tape out, where the level of it is fixed, there you go. Otherwise, I'd probably go high-level...

It's getting into a whole different issue, but finance classes should really be a part of a basic education. Yes, there are barely enough people out there that can manage English, yes, there are people that don't know where we are on the map, but maybe, just maybe, if people got some basic finance skills down something like this could have been avoided. Or maybe it's just common sense. I'm being too optimistic

But then again, while I don't support bailing out companies like that, I also don't think the attitude of "give that money to the people instead" entirely works either...unless you have an educated populace, throwing money at them isn't such a good idea, methinks...

It's easy if you have absolutely no sense of ethics.

Maybe the software has better taste now

I tried posting Howl in its entirety once here, but the board cut the message off

My first sub...is the same sub that's in the van right now

This is gay, your posting in here again. If you don't like it, the solution's real simple...

Except they're always going to have some shortcomings compared to other enclosure types, just as other enclosure types have shortcomings compared to ported enclosures Like lack of experience, for one.

Not a fan of hybrids, though at least they're offering that as a pure EV... I'll believe it when I see one on the road.

LOL @ the level of "precision"...

Someone who's more familar with the driver can probably answer that, but the short answer is that if your setup is operating in such a way where you'd be worried about that, something is wrong... Like I said before, listen to it, get to know what it sounds like under normal conditions and you'll be able to instantly tell when something is not right. Ideally, you shouldn't be running anywhere near mechanical limits anyway...if you are, I think it's time to re-evaluate what you're looking for...either get more cone area or re-work the enclosure...

I'm just really curious at the level of the installers you've heard with JL, especially with the broken tinsels comment... When I demo'ed the W6v2, even ported it showed no signs of stress. Doesn't matter how expensive the product is, put it in the hands of someone who doesn't know what they're doing, even WAVAC amps and Wilson Audio speakers won't make it sound good.
-
They're probably talking about the maximum travel allowed by the suspension before something breaks - by that time, you're already well in the non-linear range...Xmax ideally is the maximum linear travel. Or they're just lying.
-
Once again, comparing manufacturers is useless, name a specific product, specific install you heard it in and we can talk specifics. Saying "JL Audio sucks" is completely ignorant when they have a product line as diverse as the W1 and the W6v2.

24.6mm is about the end of linear travel, from the specs... Just keep an ear to it. You'll be able to tell when it's not doing well mechanically...

What kind of a question is that?

WE 300B's are pretty common compared to the other amps he's got there
